Wait, did I see Frisk/Asriel from undertale listed as "incest"?

They do realize that Frisk is a human and Asriel is a goat monster, therefore they aren't related?

That and Chara looks like Frisk, but is never stated as being related?

Imagine being this would up by vidya and kids cartoons tho. And being this incorrect about the actual content, almost like they never played undertale.. Whoo boy.

Frisk and Asriel were raised together as siblings, but they didn't know each other as babies.

How many times are we going to get people on tumblr saying Jar Jar is a racist caricature?
When I saw those movies I assumed he was a hillbilly caricature, to be honest. Black people in the South don't wear overalls: poor white farmers do. Maybe that stereotype is from before my time? Overalls are the hillbilly uniform, and they're usually depicted as being silly and uncouth. I never know Jarjar was supposed to be black until the Internet told me. I don't know, at this point I wish race wouldn't exist. People constantly shrieking about it makes people racist who weren't. :'s

Seriously though I live in the South and the blacks here aren't like Jarjar buthe a lot of the white farmers are. Is George Lucas a yankee? I don't know where he's from. Maybe he is a racist, I don't know. I don't know much about star wars and stuff.

Wherever he's from, frankly, it was pretty obvious he's stuck in the 30s. The same film had a pretty obvious caricature of a Jew in Watto. And a couple others I can't remember. And recently, he said that Disney's treatment of Star Wars was akin to "white slavery" - a euphemism for prostitution that nobody's used since World War II. (I find it hard to disagree with him, but frankly, he could have used a more up-to-date term for it.)

I see! I guess I'm not familiar with that stuff since the 30's I haven't really studied. I just figured it was another SJW freak out over nothing ("the boy who cried wolf.")

I don't know about the 20th century, but in the books etc. I've read from the 19th century "white slavery" was a euphemism for human trafficking and FORCED prostitution, not the regular bit. It could be different in different places/times, though, perhaps. I'm really surprised to hear anyone use it these days- they didn't even use it *that* much back then, IIRC and the term's like old as dirt. What a weird media consumption he must have had.

I've never seen the movie, so I don't really know/care much about Jar Jar's characterization. As far as the Boondocks comic goes, I can see the minstrel show elements in that (Jar Jar's speech pattern + what he's saying). That was definitely a very old stereotype that existed, but generally society has moved away from it.

Here's a minstrel show. It doesn't have the same speech pattern as Jar Jar, but you get the general idea. The ignorant, but well-intentioned negro who's basically every negative stereotype you can think of. While Jar Jar probably wasn't meant to be a throwback to minstrel shows, in context of the Boondocks comic, it worked.

Apparently the SuperWhoLock fandom died. Which is great news for everybody if it's true, and I found an interesting but ultimately hypothetical discussion about its supposed fall, but we can't be certain until some brave kiwi decides to wade into Tumblr to find out for us.

Back in the day, the whole racial implications of The Phantom Menace were well-known. There were tons of jokes made about it. Am I the only one who remembers?

I find it even harder to disagree with Lucas now.

(( We didn't have Internet back then. ^^; ))

Wait, what ball pit incident? This sounds promising! :3

Dashcon 2015, the first ever (and hopefully last) Tumblr convention. I don't think I have the words to do that disaster justice, but check out that KnowYourMeme article. It covers everything nicely.
