According to Nick, yes. But that story changed slightly over time. After the appeal result came out, it was more 'I hardly knew him before' whilst during the pendency it was 'My long-time family friend!'

I hate to defend balldo, but that may not be contradictory. My impression was that Ty knew the grandparents quite well, as well as some uncles and aunts who live in the area. It might be better described as Ty being a friend of the family, while Ty generally avoided, or at least didn't have much contact with, the weird rackets branch that moved to and stayed in Minnesota.

That said, I expect this project to go like his Web-hosting service. (Anyone else remember that?) It was supposed to be a domain registrar and hosting service that would make you cancel-proof, but it seems to have never gotten off the ground.

Yeah, I get the feeling Ty has lots of ideas, but not always the time / whatever to execute on them. It's a shame, what Ty was describing for the web hosting would have been ideal for the Farms.

Disclaimer: : @CassieMaynard, @BugalooBaloo, and "@" did their best to do some rote (bar was low) defense of women but mostly got shouted down. Interestingly, I haven't seen any of them in chat in ages.... under those handles anyway.

I remember Cassie vaguely and the thing that stuck out was she didn't really fit in with the spergery. She seemed actually normal. I'll admit it was a bit of a spectacle to see grown adults act like high school. When chat was newer, what stuck out were the girls trying "get in" to the convo. Then one of the bipolars would start talking shit about some boring nonsense only they care about, but it would change the conversation away and it was obvious as hell the normals were fighting to keep involved. That's right before the lewds started, iirc. So I figured it was a natural progression from people not having a personality outside of a chatroom to try to fit in with lewds, oversharing of personal drama. The oversharing sex chat from a personal level was largely pushed by the girls, iirc, which gave the guys something to dig into (edit: to get more interaction). Occasional mental health chat between that group. Maybe this was what Nick was "rebranding" to... Possibly she posted nudes herself according to another post in this thread, but idgaf. I wasn't active by any measure. Using Locals was too painful. The same desperate people attempting to carry a conversation rather than say anything worth following up on. If it was interesting at all, it was lost in the spergery thanks to a shitty format and ignored due to the constant whining when someone didn't like something. Locals was only good for memes during actual streams. That was its only draw. To sum up, it seemed people were easy to pressure into the most boring forced conversations anyone could ever fucking have just so their name could pop up constantly. When it wasn't that, it was someone whining about something, spergery, lewds and the occasional Lawtube drama.

Maybe new information/interesting: Faran Balanced allegedly came in at one point and started losing her shit at the chat talking shit to Nick's fans, then suddenly claimed she was hacked. Like, I know Nick generally doesn't give a shit how scummy his associates and guests are (i.e. Masterson), but that typically only goes as far as them not actually throwing hands with him (i.e. Ralph). I sorta assumed he was no bueno with Vito.

I would think that Nicholas is like many who come from money; bad at managing their own. It would seem that he never learned the true value of it, despite his short stint in banking.

I know we will never get a very accurate picture of his financial status, but I can see him having to curb the overly extravagant spending by the end of the year.

With his businesses failing to renew their registrations, I doubt highly that he has anyone looking out for his fiduciary well-being. Even if he did, he would probably not listen to them.
