where does he get the money for this shit? i've never been clear on fatrick's personal finances or if nikki is providing, but i find it hard to believe he can afford several vehicles, his ghetto domicile, 24/7 visits to hooli's, and take several vacations on his groundbreaking novel writing skills (he's fat, so he falls through the floor). there's no way he's actually getting livable income from his authorial work. unless there's some (at least believable) evidence to the contrary, my personal conspiracy theory is that he spends somebody else's money and/or has gotten kickbacks from SFWA for his loyalty that we don't know about.

On a sufficiently long flight I normally read one novel entirely and get started on a second, which I think is pretty normal.
