I just don't get why these people consistently go after schools time and time again.

in some cases they go after schools because of a personal connection. columbine shooters shot up their school because they themselves were students there, it was basically the center of their lives.
in other cases they go after schools because they're the easiest target. little kids in classrooms can't fight back, can't even run away or hide.
