(A) She said she was informed at 16 weeks her son would be born with a fatal abnormality and went forward with the birth anyway (according to her the son passed away shortly after). Pretty convenient that she survived a mass shooting and was also affected by the proposed post 15 week abortion ban. Now magically the serial entrepreneur (not a mise en place character) is in Nashville to take advantage of the grief?

I just don't get why these people consistently go after schools time and time again. Doesn't it fit their agenda more to shoot up Exxon mobil headquarters or a rich neighborhood? Isn't that more empowering?

I think it can be for a couple of reasons.

Many shooters were victims of bullying while they were at school. Often they had no/few friends, and would be ridiculed and bullied daily. A lot of people who were bullied relentlessly find it hard, mentally speaking, to let that go in adulthood, and they can feel severe bitterness about it for years.

They want to cause as much misery as possible, so a school is a good target for them because they're not likely to be taken out early in their rampage.

In most cases, mental health issues and major triggering events are a factor too, such as losing a job, or a relationship ending.

As this was a Christian school and the shooter's mom appears to be a Christian, maybe there's some family stuff going on too.
