I figured all the "reporters" at the NYT and CNN had to be having panic attacks, trying to figure out how to undo all their "FEMALE WOMAN SHOOTER" headlines as soon as they got the ID. NYT still has "woman" in the body of the article, but has now changed the headline to avoid the identity altogether.

This bill was recently announced and the subject of a congressional hearing:

Abolish the ATF Act (H.R. 374)

To abolish the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

It deals with a recent ATF rule change regarding pistol braces and SBRs and importantly abolishes the ATF. From the news coverage I've seen the shooter used an AR rifle and an "assault pistol"(almost certainly referring to an AR pistol or something of the like). Just as a bill is in the news to get rid of the ATF and their 2a infringing actions, a bunch of kids are killed with two of the things they are further regulating. The ATF of course has no problem killing swathes of kids, see Waco.

Probably just a happy coincidence for our bureaucratic overlords.
