No way in Hell that this country would ban guns. It's literally unconstitutional. You start undermining THAT, you may as well just rip it apart.
If the time comes that the right shrinks in numbers that it becomes the universal minority more than it already is, banning will be easy as the constitution is a piece of paper only enforced by the threat of force. if no one enforces it then yes, it is meaningless and just a piece of paper. Also even if they don't ban guns all they have to do is limit the opportunity to purchase them or make it expensive enough the average man can't own one to hypothetically ban it or alternatively make it a ban by any other legal means and then it does become a ban essentially.

Not to toot my horn too much, but I always thought this "overreaction" to Tik Tok was absurd, but I still wouldn't have thought they would be so brazen and pull a fast one on us like this. Every single time. Every single freaking time it's always about how much more control these people can get their hands on.

From what I've heard it's not about the security issues or propaganda spreading of TikTok that's the problem. It's Big Tech getting increasingly annoyed TikTok is taking up large portions of their market share. But this also gives the Government a chance to slip through some more totalitarian shit.

Leave it to Big Tech to make China the lesser evil.

The guys at NoAgenda also brought up a good point. The modern Big Tech social media depends on controversy and divisiveness to draw attention and engagement, while TikTok just boxes people into their own groups based on their interests. So no troll posters, no unending twitter screaming matches, just positive energy. The bonus is that advertisers love it too, to be able to specifically target groups that would be interested in their products and not get shit on by non-target audiences.

There's no secret algorithm that Big Tech can steal or replicate, since it goes against their entire thought process.

I wonder if Null is up on the current bi-partisan effort to ban TikTok in the US. Of course, the bill itself isn't really about banning Tik Tok.

So WFH is dead if this passes. Since most workplaces have employees login into a VPN to get access to internal network shit.

They'll go after ammo sales, like European countries did post-WWII to cope with illegally obtained military firearms. In a sense, they already do, because the most useful ammunition type - armor piercing - is already banned. I don't know if it's legal in the US to buy armor piercing bullets and reload them.

Harvard Law Professor™️ and Lizardman Mutant gun grabber out here calling attention to what really matters.

I hope someday you're caught in the crossfire, Chris.

It's clockwork really.

"We continue to avoid doing anything about national mental health, introducing armed school guards, or the FBI's reluctance to detain and investigate identified mentally ill potential school shooters on their radar. And after the school children are dead you still won't give up your guns! What is wrong with you?"

Notice how she phrased it? "How many more children have to be murdered?" Almost makes it come off as a threat, "well keep doing it until you comply!" type shit.

If the language in the bill actually does criminalize WFH, corporate lobbyists will make sure it doesn't make it out of committee.
If it is in the bill corporate lobbyists will be pushing that shit through harder than anything else. Corporations fucking loathe WFH and have been trying to get rid of it for the better part of a year and a half.
