The nuance you're ignoring is they are deliberately harming their bodies with T/E. The "benefits" of their drugs are literally the harmful side effects. Gynecomastia, vaginal atrophy, removal of healthy organs, etc are all the goals of transition. In the case of certain psychiatric drugs, negative side effects are just that, side effects, and are not the goal the medicine in question is intended to produce. In the case of troons, the organ damage is literally the goal.

They are not the same and should not be compared.

I'm sure T will help some but not others, as is the case with lots of drugs. An individual I follow here is on 'feminizing HRT (estrogen, I guess)' which may be helping with their behavioral issues, which is a good thing for them.
I'm very interested in putting 2 and 2 together and understanding why someone would do something like this which is what I'd like to speculate on. What were the causes and why was this action taken? Were drugs involved? Do they have a social life? Where do they frequent on the Internet?
I don't think we'll know much more about their recent mindset unless we can read that rumored manifesto.
