I've always thought that the price of freedom was very steep. We have freedom of speech, but people say retarded things all the time. It's just how it is. We have freedom of firearm ownership (to an extent and depending on state laws), but people do dumb shit with guns all the time. It's just how it is. It is the price we pay.
Ultimately, I think it comes down to culture. There is some fascination among the population nowadays with inane pleasure (see: social media, clickbait shovelware content, etc.) when that fascination should be with God and Country, or whatever else you want to supplement that a healthy community can be built around. Respect and reverence should be the dominant emotions when it comes to handling firearms or living in a society in general, and I don't feel that I see that a lot of that these days. Just look at the Tranch for an example. Those motherfuckers were flaunting their guns everywhere and taking pictures with them because it made them feel powerful and important. They did not give their arms the respect they deserved, thank god nobody was shot on accident.
It is the culture, and by extension, the people that need to change, I think. We must strive to be worthy of giving the respect that certain things and actions deserve.
