The thing that gets me is that DM is kind of hack- I’ve seen countless spelling/grammar/word placement errors in their headlines and articles. However, they never seem to fuck up getting a troon’s preferred pronouns right. Yuck- of all the things to excel in…
They don't care about mass shootings. They don't care about the kids that get killed I'm cities like Chicago and Los Angeles everyday. They only care when they try to push their anti-gun crap. Just like babies are not alive in the womb but if a pregnant woman is killed in a mass shooting, they include the unborn baby.
The best part is that they won’t even be able to do that here. We know that opportunistic media/politicians/activists like to milk news of mass shootings for their individual gain. However (as I’ve long argued), this depends on some variables:
1.) Weapon Type- Obviously, a scary, black AR-15 is more attackable/“marketable” than any handgun (in this case, the shooter had two autoloading rifles, a handgun, and now the ATF is removing more rifles from his house).
2.) Shooter Identity/Race/Religion- Ever notice how shootings involving white, Christian men and (less so) Muslims tend to really get the headlines going more so than others that don’t? Any group that the media has identified as “The Problem” gets smeared, while the mArgiNaLizED cOmMuniTiES get damage control.
3.) Shooting Location- Shootings at elementary schools and public events tend to provoke more shock and horror (and more marketing opportunity) than four niglets cut down in South Side Chicago gang violence, usually.
4.) Presence of restrictive gun laws- There’s more of an attack/blame angle if the area has permissive laws relating to gun ownership and carry. Mass shootings in blue states are problematic in this sense, because it spotlights the uselessness of the state’s greater restrictions.
So, to recap, they’ve got:
-A mass shooter
-Armed with 2 AR-15s and a handgun
-With a manifesto
-In an anti-troon red state with looser laws
-Shooting up an elementary school and killing children.
Normally, this would be a prime story to milk for ideological reasons, owing to its content. Hell, they’d probably “tsk-tsk” and place blame on the state of TN for bringing this on themselves with their tRanSpHobiA. Maybe they’d extend that to the Christian parents of the Christian children at the Christian elementary school for being sOooOo iNtoLeRaNT, too.
BUT…
they can’t even fucking do that now!! Why? Because talking about the story AT ALL makes it impossible for people to avoid the knowledge that a TROON is the perpetrator! And we just
cannot have troons looking dirty, right?? The media reeeaaallly doesn’t want to be responsible for peaking people…
And thus, they drop/bury the story. So deep are they into the intersectional brain rot, they decide to shirk their journalistic responsibilities in favor of protecting and enabling a movement of violent freaks and pedophiles. Infuriating.
