Polissa has declared a total retard war with her utility company, as she is on day three without power. She is convinced that she is being denied power because she is poor.

[Note: she's using angry Blanche voice in this. She is also gasping for air literally every sentence. "But Toilet, doesn't she gasp for air all the time?" you ask. Yes, but she usually gasps for air every other sentence. I had to remove all of the mentions of *deep gasp* in this transcript because it was like I was reading a telegram, only replace "stop" with "*deep gasp." That bad.]

*deep gasp* This message is for Florence Utility Company! You have a problem! I am now your problem!

On Friday night, we had a tornado come through. And it affected Pine Street, and on over the other side of the University of Alabama, on Wood Avenue... It didn't really affect this little twenty-five, and eight, and three [buildings]. It really didn't! There's no downed trees over here! So please explain why I can look across the street to Irvine Avenue, West Irvine Avenue, and I can see the lights on! [I wonder how many different utility companies are in Florence/Muscle Shoals now] And I-- I can see those lights on! Since Saturday morning! *long pause* You wanna explain that?! Why I've been able to see power in my neighbor's house? For days?! Three days?!

It's Monday at 9 PM! I still don't have power! I cannot cook, I cannot bathe, I cannot wash clothes! [Polissa does all three? Wait, what does she mean she can't bathe? She still has water, right?] *thump noise* Are you gonna pay for a hotel?! [well that means she wasn't planning on taking the animals with her] Because I'm not gonna sit here anymore! I'm sick of it! Why should I have to sit in a dark ass house when I'm paying you for service?!

*long pause* Now we know who lives in these little areas! [I suppose she means the areas where the power is still out on the map she's employing as a background] Come on, now! Don't act stupid! We know who lives in that little area! [can you please circle it for the class, Polissa? There's a lot of "little areas" on that outage map] Poor minorities and old people! [Versus rich minorities and young people]

On my street alone, we've got multiple! Elderly people! Who have been without power! Since Friday night! [I think this is all actually one sentence but she pauses one or two second between each part, so I am treating them as separate sentences] And all we can get is Facebook rumors! Ten days, fourteen days... Yeah that's the rumors we're hearing! [Polissa gets all her news from social media confirmed] We're hearing that you just now today got extra help from outside, outside *thump* this area!

So you wanna explain *long pause* why 25 houses right here, 8 houses here, 3 houses, 8 houses here, 1 house there, don't have power still?! Cause it ain't making sense! Other than you have played favorites and turned on the rich first!

I will note that according to her local news site (which Polissa clearly hasn't looked at), the EF2 tornado that hit her area over the weekend took down a lot of power lines and damaged a few houses. (archive) 3700 people are still without power. It's not EF5 levels the town bad, but apparently bad enough that they needed that outside help for a damn good reason.

Better stop fixing the entire area and focus on her dump. How has she never realized that the power often goes out for one street and not the other? It's a grid, it's not like they are skipping your street with milk deliveries while in the area. I'm sure there's old people in every damned area they are prioritizing, but this street is special because the center of the universe lives there. Has she never looked outside during any outage?

In Polissa's defense (Yes, yes, I know) the vast majority of people just don't realise how massive and complex primary services and utility grids are. I was in local government water and waste for a few years, and the amount of planning, work, building, structures, maintenance, monitoring and operation behind it all blew my tiny mind. Even now, sometimes I find myself amazed at the fact every time I turn on a tap, water- clean, potable water- actually comes out. Did you know that it's possible to 'kill' a sewerage plant? Or merely lose control of one? As for the electricity grid, I have an elderly relative who worked on the powerlines for years, until bone spurs in his shoulders stopped him from climbing, and the stories he tells me of what they used to do in the seventies and eighties are hair raising.

That said, I do wonder if Polissa knows how to reset her own fuse box...

Wonder if she’s aware that in her neighboring state, literal towns were wiped off the map and at least 25 people died. I guess Perspective is just a few syllables too long of a concept for her to understand.
Well, if they're dead they don't need electricity, do they.
And no house, no electric hookup so hurry up already, Jimmy Dean's waiting.

Poorlissa is allergic to the heat and it's been brushing against 70 in the south. Do you want her to die too, you monster?!

It’s hilarious how she wants to seem like a badass for angrily tiktoking about the power company, when she’s such a pussy she’s acting like going a couple of days without power is such a tribulation. Does she think there will be electricity after the fall of modern society that she is allegedly so prepared for? She’s such an entitled cuntbag.

Will say, all Pissa needs to do is open some windows. The weather in Florence is just a few degrees lower than it is where I happen to be (and the humidity is a smidge lower), and it's been so damned pleasant every opening in the house's been open lately.

But woe, fresh air will not charge her phone. It's a travesty.

"Little areas" = older homes and god only knows what going on with the power grid. After a tornado or hurricane, the power comes back on in a way that looks extremely random to an outside observer. Polissa lives in a tornado alley and should be used to how long it can take to get the power back on. And she should be used to seemingly weird phenomena, like one street having power but not the other. Infrastructure is weird, and it's often bad in the rural or semi-rural South. If it's a lot of older homes that are bunched close together, it shouldn't be too hard to make an educated guess about what's going on.

Also, hasn't she previously admitted that she's way behind on her power bill and can't even get the trailer hooked up because of the state of her accounts? Just a thought.

People who aren't self-centered morons know that there's a method to the madness and that the power company isn't committing hate crimes for funsies. This is Polissa, though, who probably thinks that the power company is controlled by the Southern Baptist Mafia, and Don "John Boy" Corleone personally sent Bubba "Scarface" Capone to cut power to her shack.

I just want to make a quick note that the current population of Florence is just under 40,000. So about 10% of the town was still without power last night. And that's just Florence. They're workin' on it! Spring also usually means pollen and tornadoes in the South. Summer is full of thunderstorms, but they don't spawn tornadoes as often as Spring storms for whatever reason. She's forty years old and still shocked at this?

Polissa is on day four without power. Robin paid for Josh, Dobby, and her to stay in a hotel room for the night. Guess how Polissa feels about this.

Day four without power and I give up! *lip smack* So my mom helped us get a hotel room so we could at least get showers, and recharge our batteries and rest!

I brought Dobby with me! Can't leave him at home! Set the cats up with food and water for the night! We'll be back tomorrow! Hopefully we have power by then! But um, yeah! So we're in the hotel room for tonight! Nice, nice, decent room! Allowed me to keep Dobby! And he hides from the camera!

*Camera focuses on Dobby* Say hi, Dobby! Say hi! *Dobby scurries away*

*focus back on Polissa* So yep! That's where we're at! In a hotel room! Four days no power, no explanation on why my neighborhood still doesn't have it! My neighborhood was not damaged in any way!

So now I'm just gonna sit here and eat my food and watch some TV and go get a bath and go sleep! And y'all have a good night!

Of course she abandoned the cats to fend for themselves the second she has to deal with an inconvenience. It's not like anything could go wrong when you leave 11 hungry cats alone with food! It's not like she's had pets attack each other and die in agony while she ignored them to chase her own selfish desires before... this sounds like a great plan.

The fuck else is there to do but "rest" for her? Power out, it's even more resting. Power outages are boring for people that have things to do, and she has an empty plate. What exactly is so exhausting?

Showers are so exerting and she doesn't take them for weeks, suddenly it's a problem. She has enough room temp junk calories around to sustain a small army for a month and complains that cooking is too hard, suddenly it's a problem to have no means to cook.

Nobody likes extended power outages, but good god, figure things out and calm down. Remember the ren fair and how that organic life is your dream, and all that masturbation about horrible modern society and your lack of privledges? Yet rage convulsions set in at a little taste of peasant experience. This is it, free from big bad tech and the oppression of modern life. Time to go start that garden or truly savor that sedentary nothingness, you're a special nature witch, remember?
