Nursing facility residents need a physician of record; the home won't take them without knowing who is going to answer questions, assess them regularly, and renew/write meds.
LTC will often have try to have every resident cared for by the same physician/physician and NP group, to streamline communication and continuity. Sometimes it's the LTC's in-house group, sometimes it's a local geriatric group that cares for multiple LTCs. Skilled is supposed to be a short stay, so there isn't that need to standardize. The resident has to have a primary, but it can be their pre-admit primary doctor and their previous specialists, and of course the hospitalist wrote the discharge/transfer orders.
Communication is supposed to go through the SNF to the doctor/s. Our PoV is Jack so we don't know if the nurse is ignoring him, or if they're diligently faxing off communications and getting put off by the office, or getting told"lol Scalfani" "he does that/we ruled it out." Weird they didn't start him on gabapentin, though; geriatricians give out gabapentin like Army medics give out ibuprofen, and this is actual (probable) nerve pain.
Anyway, Jack has his phone with him. A dude who complains about EGG MOUNTAIN on social media, he's not calling his neurologist's office for an emergent appointment? Tammy has some method of transporting him to movies and fast casual dining; all Jack has to do is get an appointment and get there. If Jack is truly in 10/10 pain for days, and knowing Jack to be a histrionic little turd, surprised he didn't call 911 to teach everyone a lesson.
Again, this is all via Jack, so no idea what his real condition is, if it's really new, or what steps have actually been taken. Head pain's a good reason to refuse PT, though.

But seriously, this is the frustrating thing every single time there's a news story about an unbelievable medical error/policy/etc. Are hospitals and doctors blameless? Nah. But the crazy family is allowed to talk to the media and claim whatever they want about their totally not braindead child or the reason they took a gun into the ICU or the way they snuck in essential oils and cured their dad until he mysteriously coded with a fat embolism, while the hospital only has a rep who says "we can't legally comment."
I don't want to know who's "right;" I just want to read the hot gossip! Side-by-side deranged family social media posts/clinician notes from the same day would be the absolute best epistolary novel ever.
Anyway, speaking of HIPAA and clinicians, this is a nursing home, staffed largely by aides. Someone with dedication could poke around and look for people who have this facility in their bios; the younger ones might be vaguebooking about Jack's mustard demands right now.

Yeah this was the first thing on my mind as I know gabapentin can work on neuralgia. And it's a fucking nursing home meaning they stock that stuff by the barrel because they're dealing with people with nerve pain.
So it really comes down to Jagoff being a bitch and claiming nerve pain or they don't believe he's really in pain. Although personally I think it's a little from column A and little from column B.

I refuse to believe Jack is any serious pain and also refusing oxy. Fucker couldn't resist a mcdouble to save his life, literally. If he was even in moderate pain he'd cave instantly and starting downing the fuckers like candy.
I've seen actual strong willed men brought to their knees and talk about suicide over neurological pain. That shit is no joke, Jack would call 911 like @Aunt Carol said if he was actually experiencing it. I wouldn't even blame him if he did, it's genuinely that bad. But we all know he's probably just got some mild discomfort, probably from being a fat piece of shit.

It would be surprising if he's in no pain at all considering how utterly fucked up and dying he is (which is entirely his own fault), but if they were offering him oxy (assuming this wasn't just another Jagoff lie), they probably didn't think it was nerve pain but that he was just being a little bitch and wanted to give him a pill to shut him the fuck up.

Originally I was going to say how I don't know much about protestantism, I really don't. I'm honestly surprised how many "christians" and their sects don't try to somewhat follow what was taught in the Bible.
Its unsurprising that Jack falls into the denomination that just lets someone pay lip service for asspats instead of being in one where you're encouraged to be charitable and live christlike.

Stuff like Oxy is not ideal for nerve pain but it's quite common to have people with nerve pain end up with pain management and be on oxycodone to help with the pain. There are limited pain options for nerve pain and once you have depleted those and if patients are still complaining of severe "10/10 nerve pain" the clinicians main options are opioids.

Constant pain of such an intensity that it's all you can think about and yes, anybody would be considering suicide at that point to escape it. There's no way Jagoff has it. He's just malingering and acting out because he's angy that Hammy didn't bring him his daily bag of cheeseburgers.

Yeah but at least they're considered to be Christians. When you start dealing with guys like JWs, Mormons and others then they a lot don't even consider them to be Christian. And it's super obvious no one is visiting him, the same way pretty much no one hangs with him anymore, except Tranny. And that's a slippery slope at this point.
