Imagine inserting a line about how troons are still the real victims into a statement about a shooting committed by a trans extremist against innocent children.



They're clearly taking a line from the older mental health playbook that's always been deployed after a mass shooting to remind people that mental illness doesn't make a person violent. But this was terrorism. Not a random attack by some disturbed person with no clear motive.

Obviously any random trans person isn't hellbent on shooting up an elementary school. But clearly Audrey was motivated by militant trans ideology, whereas mental illness is something that affects pretty much every walk of life in myriad ways. Equating the two is ridiculous in this context.

It's a fun hypocrisy that LGBT orgs are saying shit like this at the same time they cite "fear of copycats and glamorization" as a reason why they oppose releasing the manifesto. If trans people are overwhelmingly nonviolent victims, why are these orgs so scared of people glamorizing and copying the rhetoric that the manifesto contains? No, excerpts being read in court doesn’t count, because almost always the rest of the evidence is so good that they can just withhold your manifesto altogether. I listened to NPR’s coverage of this yesterday and they completely avoided using pronouns for the shooter, they used her last name to the point where they were essentially using “Hale” as a pronoun. It was just so cringe to see them dancing around the very salient and newsworthy fact that an FTM did this. Even just the fact that biological women almost never go on killing sprees makes it relevant even if the motive turns out to have nothing to do w trans politics. NPR is so terrified of the trans outrage machine that they’d rather obscure a major facet of the story than even risk the mob’s wrath for mentioning it.
