The idea of that game is better than the actual gameplay, from what I recall. It would definitely benefit from a modern redo with some open world elements.Star Wars: Bounty Hunter
If you got another episodic sci fi show about bounty hunting to recommend me I'd be happy to watch it. On the grand totem pole of things cowboy beebop is better, but there isn't much competition on the genre right now.

I disagree. The game is great, it's just that it has a higher bar for difficulty in the later levels, because it was made back then when gamers weren't pussies who needed coddling all the way through. Basically, imagine Super Mario with a gun, except instead of a princess, you get a Dark Jedi crack dealer as the goal for the game. The idea of that game is better than the actual gameplay, from what I recall. Just because Eckharts ladder has been brought up in this thread, I just want everyone to know that Eck is aware of the Farms and this thread.
Oh the difficulty is fine, it should be hard for a solo Mando to get the job done. I mean fixing the scan system so you don't have to keep it trained on a target like you're scanning lore in Metroid Prime. It was those bits that always got me killed during my runs. You could have it be more of a visor you can switch on/off and still remain in combat.I disagree. I didn't really care about that, considering that all you get from capturing bounties is fucking CONCEPT ART. The comic and outtakes were the real reward for people who beat the game, and they were far more substantial.Oh the difficulty is fine, it should be hard for a solo Mando to get the job done. Sunk cost + hoping something you once loved will get better, but knowing deep down it won't. It's the modern Star Wars fan mindset. Why are you still watching something you know you won't enjoy?
*autism sigh* I'm really starting to get tired of SW fans using this word as a replacement for "not as shitty as other thing". You could unironically argue the sequels are "competent" because it had a budget, a few pretty shots, professional camera equipment, and an experienced film production crew. Competence is the bare minimum of every other film or TV show in existence. For Star Wars it's an accomplishment.competent
This is consistent with the sequels, in that the good guys are so retarded after ROTJ the Fail Order appears (kind of but not really) without much difficulty despite also being full of complete idiots. The New Republic isn't even portrayed as a good government worth fighting for......so once again, all that fighting against the Empire in Rebels, Rogue One, and Andor is basically pointless. All that whining about making a better future, all that BS about how you have to do questionable things to overthrow the Empire, it all ends in tears, so why even bother?
Unless you're talking about some Disney Wars books I haven't read I don't think anyone in the galaxy "chose" the FO, they just show up and attack. With them being so pathetic that they can't even send a few soldiers and pilots to liberate a world from a small pirate presence, it's no wonder some planets chose the First Order over them.
I just watch other people watch it to make fun of it. I don't actually watch the show myself. Those fans refuse to belive SW is now a maggot infested corpse and hoping somebody else other than them will come around with a defibrillator to revived it.
Yes, that's my point. The first season and a half had actual bounty hunts/mercenary work. Then it devolved into whatever the fuck it is now.Unless S3 is different, there isn't any real bounty hunting. I would love an actual bounty hunter in space show. But Mando, unless something changed isn't it.
The first time I ever watched star wars (including the OT) was in 2018-2019 or so, maybe even later, don't remember . I thought the original movies were quaint but fun, I liked the prequels for their worldbuilding and I watched like 1.5 of the sequel trilogy. No other series, no books, no comics, or any of that shit.Sunk cost + hoping something you once loved will get better, but knowing deep down it won't. It's the modern Star Wars fan mindset.

Why waste time watching something shitty when you can make fun of something being shitty after a bunch of people people have watched it for you?I just watch other people watch it to make fun of it. I don't actually watch the show myself.
The sigma fan looks forward and establishes their own canon and view of Star Wars. The doomers doompost and the consoomers consoom.Sunk cost + hoping something you once loved will get better, but knowing deep down it won't. It's the modern Star Wars fan mindset.
To be fair, most TV series suck ass nowadays that even Filoni's pleb-tier writing is akin to Picasso for the average twat. If you think that what's happened to Star Wars is the worst, you haven't been paying attention.Competence is the bare minimum of every other film or TV show in existence. For Star Wars it's an accomplishment.
The least they could have done is portray the NR to be competent at the start, then it declines over time, kind of like what happened to the Empire. This is consistent with the sequels, in that the good guys are so retarded after ROTJ the Fail Order appears (kind of but not really) without much difficulty despite also being full of complete idiots.
Coruscant and a bunch of other planets seceded to join the FO, apparently.Unless you're talking about some Disney Wars books I haven't read I don't think anyone in the galaxy "chose" the FO, they just show up and attack.
I wouldn't even bother watching the Disney shit, it's not worth it. You might as well watch/play the EU stuff Disney ripped off in the first place. The first time I ever watched star wars (including the OT) was in 2018-2019 or so, maybe even later, don't remember . I thought the original movies were quaint but fun, I liked the prequels for their worldbuilding and I watched like 1.5 of the sequel trilogy. I thought the movies and the world were neat, I like western inspired space bounty hunting as a concept so I watched mandalorian literally 4 years after it came out.
Good thing I didn't say that though huh?I'm not a superfan, and you're genuinely retarded if you think only superfans liked the mandalorian considering its one of the few star wars shows to actually break into the mainstream.
Let's not get carried away. You could throw a rock and find a better show than Dave's hot glue fantasies. If you look hard enough, you'll find something that isn't woke garbage. To be fair, most TV series suck ass nowadays that even Filoni's pleb-tier writing is akin to Picasso for the average twat.
Velma, Thundercats Roar, MOTU Revalation, and the Witcher show may be terrible, but they're nowhere near the falloff from the OT to the sequels.Just ask fans of series such as Scooby Doo, Thundercats, He-Man, or the Witcher.
>implyingAt least the most Filoni does is play with action figures on screen
That's not what they wanted to do. They wanted to copy the OT and in order to do that they had to make the NR even more incompetent than the Old Republic was, so the FO could rise. The least they could have done is portray the NR to be competent at the start
IF you look hard enough. Outside of just going to the past and looking at stuff made 18 years ago, you're stuck with a bare handful of things that aren't woke garbage, like Cobra Kai or the DCEU. But the DCEU is dead, and Cobra Kai is ending next season.Let's not get carried away. You could throw a rock and find a better show than Dave's hot glue fantasies. If you look hard enough, you'll find something that isn't woke garbage.
Not quite. At least with the Sequels, they're fun if you switch your brain off and view it from an MCU-style perspective. You have things exploding, people dying, and there's enough adrenaline to keep the dumb normies engaged. Velma, MOTU Revelation, and Thundercats can't even be that. They go out of their way to be insulting in a manner that makes TLJ Jake Skywalker look normal.Velma, Thundercats Roar, MOTU Revalation, and the Witcher show may be terrible, but they're nowhere near the falloff from the OT to the sequels.
There's a few decades in between Mando and TFA; the least they could do is have the NR be good for something in the first ten years, then slowly slide down the drain, like the Empire. That's not what they wanted to do. They wanted to copy the OT and in order to do that they had to make the NR even more incompetent than the Old Republic was, so the FO could rise.
You keep calling it "The modern star war mindset".Good thing I didn't say that though huh?
I'm sick and tired of people complaining about this as if Star Wars hasn't had massive ground vehicles since 1980, you're effectively asking why people aren't transporting ore by cargo helicopter rather than asking the far more important question of why the transports didn't have any means of defending themselves despite being ran directly by the military whilst also being constantly attacked by the natives. If you're referring to the Tatooine Gun Train then that's a fair complaint since the entire thing is nonsensical and exists solely so that Favreau could homage Lawrence of Arabia despite it making no sense when you think about it as anything more than an action setpiece. Why is the empire using a land vehicle?
It's been my experience that people liked the idea of Mando moreso than the actual show, and the further it deviates from that idea the less people like it.Did the posibility that people just liked the show on its own merit and don't like that it sucks now even cross your mind?
If it wasn't clear I was talking about long time SW fans who watched the Disney movies as they came out in real time and liked Mando before Disney bought it.You keep calling it "The modern star war mindset".
No, not really.Did the posibility that people just liked the show on its own merit and don't like that it sucks now even cross your mind?
