As someone who got into a few scuffles during my school years i'll never understand why fighting in even middle school has to be "battery" with citations and disorderly conduct. Zero tolerences laws are something else i tell ya.
I had ADHD but i was able to convince my parents during those years to take me off medication, worked out just fine and thankfully it was never adderall.
But yeah you make a great point about the schools, i'm so glad i got out of the school system before all this theater culture war bullshit really took root.
