Now I wonder how much developed with influence from American Evangelicalism and how much developed on it's own in a convergent evolution? Some things need to develop to have a more accepted time like "gendered souls/nebulous inherent quality that makes you trans", some are a substitute. I thought more developed independently due to how many redditors were atheist but there is enough influence and literature from older trans people (I'm thinking of Julia Serano's 2007 Whipping Girl) who could have been influenced by growing up in the 70s and such.

I've been mulling on this for a bit: transgenderism is at least superficially and incidentally anti-Christian.

You start out being indoctrinated (as though you're being catechized), as well as premade phrases to say and write (a "creed", if you will) when consulting with professionals in order to convince them that you're in urgent need of SRS/HRT.

When Christians are baptized, they have the option of taking up a baptismal name separate from their birth/legal name, though sometimes they altogether change their legal name to their baptismal one. Likewise, trans people change their name as part of their of their transition.

Baptism is considered a kind of becoming a "new creation" but also part of the restoration of man to what he was before his Fall. Likewise, SRS/HRT is sought in conjunction with the name change to seal this becoming their "true self" (bonus: baptism is considered the circumcision of the new covenant, whereas SRS involves total castration for men and FGM for women).

It's complicated. In fact the tranny religion doesn’t just have one old testament. They are up to 41 versions of the old gospel. Previous versions included "we are biological men" and "transsexual or transvestites", and, of course "we just want to pee".

New testament currently includes "not being allowed in women’s sports is the same as Hitlers death camps" and "it's okay to beat up women, actually".
