John Doyle (Nick Fuentes Lite) made a video last year where he talked about how Gaston was actually the Hero.
"Neo-Gastonism ideology" Oooookay........
Gaston is still the Villain of Beauty and the Beast, but he's a relatable Villain. He's narcissistic and demonstrates he is willing to do whatever it takes to reach his goals, he skilled, and he's the most handsome built guy in the town. So he's got plenty of reasons to act how he does. He sticks to the rules, and social norms. Only when he becomes desperate for the goal of Belle does he decide to break that.
You can see this is Belle and Gastons exchange at the house, he's enraged and flabbergasted Belle rejected him, he's doing literally everything right socially, she should've thrown his panties at him when he knocked on the door.
Imagine if Gaston killed the beast, and returned triumphantly to the town. He'd be the biggest hero in the province. Belle would be then trapped in a situation, where either she'd have to marry Gaston. Or be ostracized by the entire populace, because who would literally turn down the Hero? She must be mad as her Father. She'd probably have to flee.
If you break down Belle though, she comes off a bit shallow, only interested in herself. For example Gaston offers her to get married and raise children which the movie implies is bad (especially boy children) and he's not fond of books, and his boots will dirty things. Housewife? Husband complaining about books? Dirt? EW.
On the other hand she was living in a Castle with servants and a Massive library. So shes in her ideal environment, she won't really have to take care of kids if she has any, and she has all the books she would ever want. The Beast is a Prince, so we don't know if he's actually good at anything, he just got his wealth, and we don't know if he has temper issues afterward. But who cares, still a hot guy plus Palace and Books and Servants. Way better deal.
She'll probably pop out the same number of kids Gaston asked for and not think a thing of it while living in the Palace.
