NGL if my options were to either:
1) bleed out from 'nade drop shrapnel while hiding in the trenches
2) get turned into hamburger meat while zerg-rushing into Vuhledar or Bakhmut
3) get dedovshina'd then executed for cowardice,
4) go out on a boozy binger

I'd probably be picking Option 4 myself as well...

I like seeing Ukie tankers score some brutal kills but, God I hope they reel it in and stop taking risks like that. Getting lucky so many times can lead to some feeling untouchable. Hope these guys are getting cycled out to teach the next wave of tankers.

It's even more than that, it's a war for the very survival of Ukrainians as a people. Even if the Russian government won't say it out loud, actions speak louder than words - the ultimate intent here is destruction of the Ukrainian people, language and culture and forcible integration of their territory into Russia.

Could you imagine what would have happened if the US was abducting Afghan children from their parents and sending them back to the United States for "rehabilitation"?

I'm reminded of a quote I can't recall the source of: "A tank's primary weapon is its tracks". Some armies actually teach their tankers to engage in mêlée combat, and it is practiced to some extent. Agreed that it looked unfathomably risky and probably tactically unsound in that vid though.

Jesus they really just entombed the squishies in their own trench. Seems a bit pointless if everyone in there is already dead. And where the fuck is the infantry support to clear the trench?

Western Antifa, commies, and anarchists actually have been volunteering for the Donbas republic and served alongside Russian or Russia-aligned troops as far back as 2014. Pro-Russian forces considered them useful enough to use them in some capacity. Otherwise there would not be that many pictures of foreign leftists in military garb hanging out with Russian and pro-Russian soldiers.
