She said it was a quote from Quran itself, which it very obviously is not. She just put self defense and Islam in google and took the first thing she got as a justification for Ramadan raging. i know she'll never look into her newfound religion enough but i would love some hot islamic takes from chantal. when she popped on in that ridiculous niqab i had fever dreams of an "islam is right about women" moment from her. her disdain for the west (ironic, when she's such a beautiful example of the worst aspects of the modern west) and flexing her ~exotic brown people religion~ made me somewhat hopeful.

unfortunately she's largely approached it with the lukewarm half assed commitment of the more lax modern day christian, with her comments on faith being personal and between her and allah and that she can't be judged, and zero actual theology or practice of the religion. i expected her to not really research it or genuinely care but with her behavioral patterns i was still hoping she'd latch on to the more extreme takes without due diligence. it would just be funny.
