New CaringBridge post. What the fuck?
On Friday night (March 31st) Chelsea passed away to her eternal home. She went quickly at the end, was surrounded and physically held as she took her last breathe. Although, it is devastating to lose Chelsea family and friends can wholeheartedly say they are glad she is out of pain.
More information will be announced per the family as things continue to be arranged.

This is long-unedited version.
It boils to Chelsea was let down, over and over again by a medical system. It was a systemic failure. Every time Chelsea made a step forward with medical things she would be blocked somewhere else. It’s been infuriating. It’s been disgusting. Even with specialist and proper diagnosis she was denied help. Even when Chelsea did what was asked and jumped through the hoops for the medical community… she was denied.
At the end, Chelsea DID NOT have hospice services. It’s not even clear if she had palliative care. She did NOT have pain management that was working for pretty much the entire hospitalization: from Jan 13th - March 31st. Occasionally in between that time frame there was some relief. It was fleeting. It was WORSE at the end. Her final hours were still requesting for help.
To clarify: It is correct that she was offered hospice services on March 7thsh (forgive me as I forget the exact day) and that offer was removed not even a week later with NO COMMUNICATION about that fact.
EVERY TIME she had pain management involved they’d give some reason to take it back. CHELSEA WOULD DO WHAT WAS ASKED! Chelsea was NOT BUCKING!
The hospital picked apart diagnosis and WOULD NOT let Chelsea, myself or mother give them the specialist information. They REFUSED to call the people who gave some of the diagnosis. The hospital said they had NO SPECIALISTS in the area of chelsea’s concerns. YET THEY WOULD NOT call the specialists who diagnosed the illness/syndromes and would pick apart things WITHOUT SPECIALISTS!
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
Certain illnesses that had a much more clear and straightforward diagnose criteria was labeled “not applicable” for her stay. They were the ones that opened doors to pain management. Those were the diagnoses that couldn’t be debated or picked apart.
In charting doctors/nurses lied about things; I was right there in the room I can attest to it. Things were twisted. Staff refused to clarify many things. They would NOT amend what was written even if they admitted in-person to error. Things were charted as “tolerated” when she had CLEAR reactions to them instead. Promises and reassurances were made by staff that never happened on the side of the hospital.
What they did do is call Chelsea crazy. The problem is THE HOSPITALS OWN PSYCH team came in and CLEARED her. Psych was MORE empathic to her plight then the staff trying to force an idea of chelsea that was NOT true. If it was true the psych team WOULD HAVE stepped in.
There was constant talk about the “care team.” Some of those team members making decisions were NEVER met with and they REFUSED meetings and/or phones calls. SOME NEVER SAW CHELSEA. They wouldn’t even tell us WHOM the decision makers were by name. Sometimes Decisions were made that were contrary to things they agreed to in front of family.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
Chelsea was NOT taking anything outside sips of liquids in prior to her death and at the end she couldn’t do that YET THE HOSPITAL TRIED GETTING HER TO TAKE A ORAL PILL FORM MEDICATION WHILE CHELSEA WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF ACTIVE DEATH.
FAMILY was NOT INFORMED of Chelsea’s overnight decline. The hospital didn’t even acknowledge Chelsea’s ACTIVE DEATH NOT EVEN just hours before her death… let that SINK IN. The HOSPITAL would have let her die alone before calling family even though they knew we wanted to be with Chelsea. CHELSEA wanted to be with certain people! The hospital WOULD LET HER DIE ALONE THEN ACKNOWLEDGE ACTIVE DEATH
She died hours after doctors told her she had more then 6 months left! SHE WAS IN FLIPPEN ACTIVE DEATH PEOPLE!
NOBODY DESERVES WHAT SHE WENT THROUGH!
She was refused the dignity she fought for. She was denied her voice. She was denied validity. She was denied proper care. She was denied relief.
SHE WAS DENIED…
SHE WAS LEFT…
SHE WAS FAILED…
THIS WAS A SYSTEMATIC FAILURE..
HEAR MY CRY IF YOU DIDN’T HEAR CHELSEA’S! GOD FORBID YOU OR A LOVED ONES MEETS THE SAME FATE!! THERE ARE OTHERS WHOM MET THE SAME FATE ALREADY AND OTHERS WHO CONTINUE TO FEAR, FOR JUST REASONS, THE SAME FATE!
Chelsea was FINALLY given pain relief in a few hours before her death. Chelsea predicted should would be gone as soon as she got some relief and that’s what happened. CHELSEA just wanted pain relief… THATS ALL SHE WANTED. She wanted dignity and she wanted to be comfortable as she met her end.
Chelsea wasn’t talking in her final hours. She was making a noise that sounding something in combination of humming, snoring, and moaning. It was fitting for a person who loved music and singing. Within 8 hours of her death she could kind of hum amazing grace for mom even though she couldn’t find words or use her limbs. Chelsea wasn’t responsive in the way of eye contact and she had also slowly gone blind in the weeks prior to her death. Chelseas eyes were cloudy. By the time I got there she could not squeeze your hand or let you know when she felt your presence. Chelsea’s body (it wasn’t words, distinct sound, or an exact twitch so I don’t really know how to get across in words) did get louder at times as if to let you know she acknowledged things you said or just your presence. They couldn’t get a clear reading of pulse or oxygen.
I held Chelsea as she took her last breathe; I could give her one of her final wishes. Mom was there. Chelsea’s mom nuzzled her cheeks and forehead in her final hours reassuring her she’d continue moving forward. Chelsea was scared that mom might lose it after Chelsea’s death because losing your child is something a parent should NEVER go though.
She had kind nurses that day and one nurse stayed past her shift. All things considered she passed in a loving environment even if it was physically in a place where she was denied.. everything… even the fact that she was dying.
Chelsea died during a storm. It was fitting. She loved storms and snow. She was born during a storm and she left in a storm. She died as an unusual snow storm came in and roads were nearly unsurpassable. Even our area, used to winter weather, wasn’t prepared for the force which was that storm.
She died hours before April fools. Chelsea would have found it darkly humorous, as did I, to post on a day like April Fools yet would ultimately would have agreed that it would NOT be appropriate.
I thought this was the end…
Even in Chelsea’s death family is DENIED an autopsy even when they offered to pay. Multiple places denied. They give no real clear answers as to why.
We are still trying to get an UNBIASED autopsy.
The hospital wanted to fill out paperwork for an autopsy which would determine whether the hospital or county would do the hospital. We said we’d like an unbiased autopsy so we waiting hours to hear back on how that could happen. Hourssss later we were told the hospital didn’t do autopsies (we didn’t want them to anyways) as it was shut down during Covid yet was given a number for security and told to do the leg work ourselves.
We did the leg work; we’ve continued to be shut out without clear reasoning. From what we’re being told by those who deal with death regularly or the paperwork of death regularly what we are going through is bizarre. We’re being told they’ve never heard of the things we’re being told.
Chelsea’s paperwork was lost at one point on top of this.
We were denied the ability to talk to the doctor who would confirm her death, do the paperwork, and/or give reasons behind death. The hospital called Chelsea’s death “natural.”
The county is telling us that things did not happen in the order the hospital suggested. They were not contacted as many times as the hospital suggested; there was a lack of communication even though the county was more then active working with Chelseas mother. The county does not believe the hospital staff called the places they said they did because they would have been involved in the process. The county was told the hospital wanted to put psychiatric places down for Chelsea WITHOUT the proper forms and NO proof of what they were claimed. The COUNTY DEFENDED CHELSEA! The county was right as the hospitals psychiatric team was AGAINST those options. The county did not get reasons of Chelsea’s death nor the usual answers to questions they usually do when closing a case. The county does not understand why an autopsy is not being performed or WHY family would be blocked by one because it’s standard procedure for her age AND as soon as the family wants to pay for one there should be no issue.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
Obviously with all that has happened I wanted PROOF OF Chelsea’s body WAS HER BODY before transport. I COULD AT LEAST GIVE HER BODY PROTECTION THAT SHE COULDN’T GET IN LIFE!! There was a particular marking and I was able to see it. I was there as chelsea was rolled out in something with fabric that was fluffy. It looked like a regal blanket but fluffier. She would have loved it’s soft fabric in life. It was fitting. Mom and I escorted her. We made sure she was safe.
Immediate family can’t really heal when it stills feels like we need to protect Chelsea.
At this time I have instructions on what to do in honor of Chelsea and her Celebration of life. Chelsea made sure she got across before death what she wanted. It makes giving her a proper celebration on her terms easier.
I don’t know where to leave this.
I’m still in the process of processing myself.
This isn’t the end of Chelsea though… there are others carrying her torch of love, light, advocacy, etc.. Some of those same people are simultaneously afraid of similar fates of being the unseen-unheard individuals who will wither in pain and have unacknowledged real medical issues.
Chelsea’s at peace. She’s with her dad, and other family members. She’s with the lord and savior. She’s with the angels.
Now let’s take up the torch where Chelsea left off and forge forward.

Well, I'm glad they're finally differentiating between the two. Shame it's apparently too late for Chelsea to learn the difference.

So not SPS then, since she was diagnosed after an ivIG adventure? The only thing she had that isn't in doubt is a factitious disorder and idt that qualifies you for the good pain drugs anyway?

Its where one can very roughly determine how long an acute patient has left, and what interventions would be a waste and what new interventions may be introduced.

I'm losing my fucking mind. This may be Chelsea's greatest hit. There is no way she can come back from this that isn't hilarious and pathetic. I never thought she was dead and I don't see how anybody could now. This woman is certifiably insane and I'm loving every minute. The Caringbridge post, the "final" tiktok...magnificent. Lordy, all these older pictures of her in her uh, 'modeling' days are really unfortunate looking. I guess I'd forgotten that the butternut squash face wasn't much of a change, she's always had a face like a potato; Midwest corn-fed big ol' gal, just built like she's designed to throw hay bales. You would think that now that Chelton has been MURDERED by a callous and corrupt medical system "Lacey" would post some recent recordings she took during Chelsea's final days. Skeletal from surviving on nothing but sips of water, cloudy-eyed, moaning and grunting as her only means of communication (besides humming "Amazing Grace", of course...) You know, since they are all about transparency and exposing the horrors inflicted upon her by this criminal institution and the reality of what can happen to a unicorn zebra medical oddity such as Chelton when deprived of her precious PAIN MANAGEMENT.
Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I noticed that they haven't mentioned the name of the hospital where she croaked. You would think that they would be calling them out by name since they are making some pretty serious accusations about them. I particularly liked that Lacey had to check for "markings" to prove they didn't pull a switcheroo with her body so that they could...I don't even know? Fake an autopsy report? Someone has seen a few too many movies it seems...

totally agree. that cb post was so vague about the important bits but overloaded with unnecessary details. i may only be a jcs aficionado but it doesnt take an expert to notice the same type and ways of lying that lacey, chelsea and her sister seem to display. idk still wouldnt lose sleep if the bitch actually went tits up. wasnt that what she wanted?

You missed out the part where she was able to hum 'Amazing Grace' to her mom right before the final exit. That bit really was the cherry on the lie-cake for me. That sort of detail really sums up how Chelsea likes to think we see her.
ETA @OK_Cogitator thanks for the info, she said that phrase enough times that I figured she had to have picked it up from somewhere/someone official. I love the way they pepper their stories with med jargon to try and legitimise themselves and it always sounds so wrong in their mouths somehow.
