SAN FRANCISCO -- A man stabbed to death early Tuesday morning near downtown San Francisco was well-known tech executive Bob Lee, founder of Cash App and the former chief technology officer of Square, sources told KPIX.

Officers responded at about 2:35 a.m. to a report of a stabbing in the 300 block of Main Street in the city's Rincon Hill neighborhood and arrived to find the victim, who was taken to a hospital and succumbed to his injuries there, police said.

The city's medical examiner's office had not yet identified the victim as of Tuesday evening, but friends of Lee told KPIX he was the victim. The 43-year-old Lee was the Chief Product Officer of San Francisco-based cryptocurrency startup MobileCoin.

On Twitter Tuesday evening, a flood of messages were posted eulogizing Lee, many including his @crazybob Twitter handle.

Was scheduled to work on @mobilecoin with you tomorrow AM @crazybob. You always believed in me, I’ll be forever grateful.

Committed to seeing this project for as long as the Team will have me, to the very end.

Cash app is how drug dealers started taking credit cards. LOL I hope this was just some random junkie.
Hindenburg Research (they've done similar teardowns/shorts) had a big howling about Block/Cash App/ etc here: https://hindenburgresearch.com/block/ (a):

  • CEO Jack Dorsey has publicly touted how Cash App is mentioned in hundreds of hip hop songs as evidence of its mainstream appeal. A review of those songs show that the artists are not generally rapping about Cash App’s smooth user interface—many describe using it to scam, traffic drugs or even pay for murder. [See our compilation video on this here]
  • “I paid them hitters through Cash App”— Block paid to promote a video for a song called “Cash App” which described paying contract killers through the app. The song’s artist was later arrested for attempted murder.
  • Cash App was also cited “by far” as the top app used in reported U.S. sex trafficking, according to a leading non-profit organization. Multiple Department of Justice complaints outline how Cash App has been used to facilitate sex trafficking, including sex trafficking of minors.
  • There is even a gang named after Cash App: In 2021, Baltimore authorities charged members of the “Cash App” gang with distribution of fentanyl in a West Baltimore neighborhood, according to news reports and criminal records.

the video is a hoot, but my archivers have unshit

So was he Epsteined or did he experience diversity first hand?
could be both, if i were gonna clinton someone having the hitman hire a hitman to hire a diversity candidate to do the needful would be a primo idea

lmao what a shithole, why do people praise California so much? Pretty sure a junkie would stab you for an old burlap sack and a can of Vienna Sausages in hopes of pawning it off for drugs
Best part they probably wont charge them, just book and release them.
california is/was very nice if you're rich, and if you're rich enough it still is

but rich people don't know the barrio and they don't understand that around blax never relax

note that your average A&H poster wouldn't be caught dead in the streets of frisco at 2 fucking AM in the morning without an armed guard and a pitbull.

hackernudes has blackbarred over this and setup a obituary/memorial for people to talk about how good a techbro he was until he got american'd: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35457341 (A); probably was a decent dude, most people are

He's in a major city after fucking 2 a.m. What the fuck is wrong with you? Anything can happen, even in nice areas. What the hell was he doing wandering around?

EDIT:
This only proves my point that the ultra-wealthy class have no idea what the rest of humanity does and is completely alien. He thought he was untouchable at any single time during the day, so he felt safe enough to wander around a major city when there's not going to be anyone on the street with good intentions.

it's a side effect of the modern zeitgeist; it used to be that even the lefty liberals KNEW that around blacks never relax and wouldn't go to the bad parts of town or stay out at night; but we've had something like ten years of massive media blitz telling people that NOTHING is wrong and there IS NO BAD PART OF TOWN and if you think that you're racist. And so people who have NEVER encountered a feral nigger/homeless druggie just don't have the smarts to get inside.

Or it'll turn out it was grindr-gone-wrong or someshit.

Well, if Jussie Smollett is so safe in Chicago at 2AM the only threat to his life is himself, why not this guy in San Fran?

That is of course assuming this wasn't a drug deal or hookup gone wrong.

got culturally enriched for his Rolex
thanks for the laugh
Stabbing is extremely messy and personal
Stabbing is cheap, deadly knives can be purchased for under $20 whereas even a Yeet Cannon is like $180. Homeless people can't afford guns because
  • they spend their money on drugs
  • most of them have criminal records
  • possession of a firearm compounds a felony if arrested

If he was getting drugs, isn't he rich enough to have underlings do his drug pick ups for him? Or at the very least, be rich enough that the local deals COME TO HIM instead of vice versa (something I learned via Drugs Inc; that in big cities and especially around the tech bro elite crowd, tech bros expect the dealers to come to them and that they'll pay over normal street value for their drugs for that white glove delivery special treatment).

I'd make the argument that it may have been sex related; IE he went down to pick up a cheap male hooker and the encounter went south for whatever reason.

Tell the dad who got shanked at a Starbucks for saying the wrong thing to a smoker of color.
...Yes? A moment of heated rage during a dispute between two people is extremely personal.
At the same time there's a whole group of people that will instantly chimp out and go straight to violence when a magic word is uttered in their presence. They're like sleeper agents, but much more retarded.
