Dylan James Mulvaney / Days of Girlhood / Day __ of Being a Girl - Dylan Explains It All, a gay man interprets 'girlhood' in all glorious technicolor.

I'd assume that sales of the Bud brand had been in freefall, they no longer dominate the market like they did in the 90s due to the massive increase in competition from craft breweries. People discovered that beer doesn't have to be flavorless pisswater! And even when I'm in the mood for generic lager beer I always go for something cheaper.

So rationally, you'd assume that this is Bud's attempt to pivot to an untapped market. Yet Bud owns several "craft" breweries and a hard seltzer label or two that would have a far easier time selling to them.

I dunno, does anyone have a better grasp on the state of the alcohol industry? I'd like to think their motives are purely capitalistic
You're very close: this is less pandering in hopes of gaining a new consumer demographic, and more desperate grasping for ESG money to make up for the recent declines imo.

it's fucked up that there are people still mourning the 6 people killed by a troon like a week ago and these companies are like "we are gonna support trannies in this very moment, fuck it!"... well, they did it [after] biden said the same.

what a moment in history to alienate a big chunk of your country: on the verge of WWIII. imagine biden trying to convince republicans and normies, "can you go and die for me while i let groomers brainwash your children and later abuse them? minorities issues go always first, yes... now go and die for them."

But he has no tits. Not even sad little troon moobs. This campaign makes both the product and the endorsement look dumb.
The Jack Daniels campaign is from 2021, but still. It is funny that Bud would pander to trannies since if you want to tap into a new demographic, don't make it one that perpetually offs themselves.
Not to mention one with no money and a tendency to turn on things with no warning.

Personally, I think the demographic they’re actually aiming for is kids reaching drinking age. You know, the kids with their Tick Tocks and their Instant Grams, they listen to the Social Media influencers.

Nike getting Dylan to model sports bras is like Trojan getting Ellen Page to model condoms

It's interesting how you never see a major brand choose a trans man for their campaigns. Ellen was everywhere promoting her autobiography and giving interviews about her change but you never heard someone like Axe or Gillete for men making her the official spokesman.

They always pick the "famous" trans women of the moment to promote an exclusive female brand. And Dylan is the ultimate famewhore so she is perfect for them.

Jack Daniels has joined the “sponsor a tranny” love fest. I know it’s not Dylan related, but really, it is.

Maybe things have changed since years ago when I watched Ru Paul, but at the time it seemed like Drag Race was very open about drag queens being gay men in dresses and not women, and would make jokes about trannies (and they said the words "tranny" and "she-male"). It was also very open about the whole thing being sexual. I've now googled it, and it seems like RuPaul has complained about not being allowed to say those words anymore, and also got Twitter mobbed for saying trannies weren't allowed on the show.

The whole "Drag is totally not sexual u guise!!1" is so bizarre to me because it only seems like a plot to get closer to children. Drag was always inheritly sexualized, it's a big reason why most of their events were in gay clubs and weird strip club events, pretending like it's not a sexual thing is pretty much going against the whole point. It's still utterly horrific to me that we live in a world that it's socially acceptable to take your child to some shit called "Drag Story Hour" and people will somehow still defend that action.

The way these sponsorships are popping up left and right doesn't feel natural. At all.

Is this some knee-jerk reaction to the Nashville shooting in some hilariously misguided effort to show the public at large "not all trans, actually" to keep people's rage in check?

Might be a little tinfoil hatty of me, but that's what it seems like. Also if that's the case I seriously doubt it's gonna have that effect lol.
So a lot of big companies bought in BIGLY to the idea of cause marketing / ESG cross-promotion / doing good in the neighborhood type of earned media. They love doing things they consider charity in order to get puff pieces written about them, and if they're any kind of talent/ad agency, they are likely pitching this kind of stuff in some way to the sponsors. "Give us product, and we will help you tell the story you want to tell to the markets you want to reach. Here are Dilly's reach numbers on TikTok. Kids are on TIkTok. You want to be liked by the kids, right?" And by partnering in any way that helps a marginalized community feel better (think the Trevor Project getting involved in the 365 Days show), all parties get to tap into ESG funds that starts the cycle all over again.

This happens everywhere, but it's especially noticeable when the cause is just gassing up one lone troon and using the backlash to prove you are doing good. It's not buying kids Christmas presents or cleaning up a sidewalk, is it. But in their view, it lifts all boats: the CAA celebs who want to look down with the trans struggle without getting too close, the marketing departments looking for something that will be viewed as organic by idiots, and a built-in lobbyist that you don't have to pay to take your advocacy to Capitol Hill.
