To say that I'm baffled by this is an understatement. I thought things were going fine at Kawaii. My gut instinct says that this won't reflect well on the company.
I know what I'll be doing for the next few days; reading through posts to see if I can uncover any credible motives for how things turned out like this.

After reading through everyone's thoughts on the Kawaii situation, I've soured considerably towards Kawaii, Nene, and Nami.

It's impossible to ignore 4 people graduating at once and the implications of the state of the company.

I didn't know this before, but apparently Kawaii takes 50% of their earnings, 20% more than Holo, and they don't invest at all in advertising.
Why would anyone want to work for them? Especially when you compare them to recent successes like Idol or Eien?

The PR-laden video combined with the angry, backstabbing tweets from Nami and Nene don't paint a very good picture of the company culture.

I read a lot of compelling theories about what led to them wanting to speak to management, such as trying to get them to consider a more flexible management style, similar to Phase or Idol. Regardless of what their grievances were, I struggle to see how they were in the wrong.

I'm invested in following gen 3, especially Aletta and Peony, in their future endeavors and I'm considering unsubbing from the rest of Kawaii.

Bettel and Shinri continuing their puzzle-solving adventures with Bettel asking the important questions like "Are you seeing this from your eyes".

Vesper having fun in Hitman 3.

Agent Noir is not the brightest.

Vesper talking about KPI and how happy he is that Holo staff don't use it on the talents.

I had already guessed that "Health" was code for mental Health, it just sounds less gay than saying Mental Health. I do hope she actually takes a break lord knows she needs its.
Unfortunately there's only ever so much of a break she'll ever actually take. her "workaholic" bit isn't just a bit. So while she might be "taking a month off" it has the caveats of "I'll still be working on my music" (Nothing confirmed but she's heavily implied that both her next album and her next sololive are being worked on behind the scenes), as well as there will be a couple times she will still stream during that month as she has collabs with JPs that she had started planning and does not want to cancel on (I know she was planning a karaoke stream with Marine and also has guests planned for her drinking collab series Holoyoi) so we'll likely see 2-3 streams still during that month.
Then factor in Con season is starting up which is when she tends to perform as Demondice, who also according to rumors, has a new album dropping in May, and a live show with some decently well known JP artists like Nano and Kihow (Jrock artists with work history doing anime OPs, Kihow probably being the best known as the current singer from Myth&Roid, If you've heard IRyS's "Here Comes Hope" or Watame's "Mayday Mayday" you've heard Myth&Roid more or less since those songs were done by the band just having the Vtuber do the vocals)

"Compelling theories" without further information is just a fancier way of saying rrats. You raise a fair point about the revenue split if that's true though, but on the flip side of that is also "they agreed to that and then a short time later decided they didn't" which doesn't paint a fantastic picture of them as professionals either to say they agree to something and then turn around and walk out on the commitment immediately after which just wastes peoples time and money that got invested into their debut which ends up justifying management and other's at the company getting annoyed with them.

It's kinda the same way I felt with the Zaion thing before where I'm just left with the realization that young women can't be trusted to read their own contracts I guess because they keep signing them and apparently only realizing after the fact that they don't like them.

I'm not really a fan of these sorts of terms. All I'm saying is that is that it lines up nicely with the circumstantial evidence.

I referenced their cut of the earnings to emphasize one more reason they'd want to leave. I never said that the confrontation was directly related to it.

Yeah I remember that you were the guy who had the most chartitable view of Niji after that. We don't know what the confrontation was about, but it had to have been a big deal if it led to an entire gen deciding to walk away.

Nunki announced graduation after Idol Corp said their Gen 2 was locked in so chances are she's off to be a jewba.
the foox never struck me as the kind who switches corps just for more subs. afaik she didn't stream a lot even before her generation, my impression is she moved on for good. gonna miss the mamama.

a new corp wouldn't change the self-afflicted issues, as I said before when the discussion about a yuro-vtuber came up, there's simply not enough reach. you either stream in your local language, which limits you to that euro-language only, or english, which doesn't have as much reach in europe either. since she streamed mostly during EU afternoon, it was too late for asia and too early for america (also part of the reason I couldn't watch her as often as I liked).

as much as I like to shit on corps, an entire gen leaving while the other 2 sticking with the company and coming out in it's defense doesn't mean it's suddenly a black company. the cut is pretty irrelevant since that's part of the contract every party can decide to sign or not before anything happens.
unless they all were unprofessional (doubtful) it was probably more about management and the direction. streaming under a crop IS different than being indie, for good and bad, and not everyone is cut out for it. that doesn't mean the vtuber or the corp sucks, just that both have different expectations and limitations, which sometimes can't be reconciled (see orange dragon).

Is it true that Kawaii does not invest into advertising (or specifically digital ads) or is that just a rrat from /vt/ ?
Some other rumor has it that they will try to join Idol, based purely on this.

spicy, curious how it's gonna work out.

I'm still surprised no one sued to define if the character is part of the performer or part of the company, expected that to happen years ago (but then we didn't have that many bad breakups of big earners all things considered).
or another corp blatantly re-creates a former persona for the sake of the performer and we get a lot of IP-shitflinging... considering no other chocolate is allowed to be purple besides milka, this can get all kinds of retarded.

Ina's cover of Tabi no Tochuu reached 3 million views so it's a good time to repost it. It's also her birthday in 6 weeks and since she started dance lessons again and mentioned before that she will travel to Japan soon there might be some 3D performance.
When I watched the MV I wished she would go back to do more drawing streams again.

But... but how do you not know this?
I'm gonna call bullshit, mainly on Bae's part. It's true that Irys is pretty sheltered but I think this exchange started from it being lost in translation, the Japanese pretty much call them 'golden balls' after all.

Bae was in the public school system so she has had at least two units of SexEd, which includes labelling anatomy. I think she just hopped on the wave for seiso points.
Simp? Do you mean shrimp?

Towa and Arurandeisu the younger talk about their ideal and their actual work day schedules.

Continuing on from the previous clip, Arurandeisu the younger shares to Towa some details from the time he was 3 hours late to an Apex collab. He woke up because his parents were concerned that he was late in the collab and went to his apartment to check on him.

Suisei takes interest in Roberu's taste in 2D women. Something that has to do with some kind of eyes, or some kind of look. I didn't get it.

Suisei trying to get Roberu to eat bugs or Surstromming on stream. It concludes with Roberu calling Suisei a "weird person with a foul mouth" and a "hopeless person with a foul vocabulary".
