Are you getting the vaccine? - Absolute trashfire thread, please enter with caution

yeah, no, that's okay, mate, i don't need horsepaste, i'm okay with my clotshot, thank you.
It's pretty fucked up if you think about it. Journalists theoretically want to fact-check and correct common misconceptions, but a huge chunk of the MSM-following population genuinely thinks Ivermectin is "horse paste" and nobody has bothered to correct them. I don't really know where I stand on the various conspiracy aspects of covid, but I don't see how this is possible without somebody covertly directing the media to delegitimize it.

Nah it doesn't require some sort of shady conspiracy directing the media from the shadows. Controlled media journos are a class just like niggers are a class or Trump worshiping rednecks are a class. They just respond to basic social incentives around them, it doesn't require central coordination. They can lie about Ivermectin for the same reason that people like Lurker can get their viewpoint totally assblasted when they expose it to scrutiny yet remain utterly unfazed and still a loyal vaxcuck. It's just tribalism hijacking people's brains like always in life.

when was the first time you ever heard of ivermectin?
I don't remember when specifically, but I know it was before the media started the deboonking frenzy, probably late spring 2021. I remember telling my CNN-ified vaxfiend cousin about it in Summer 2021 and he hadn't yet heard of it. Now that I have answered your question unironically, would you kindly answer mine?

I don't know though, I agree that it ended up being a socially-driven groupthink thing, but how did the Ivermectin Bad meme get started in the first place? Like I'm telling Lurker, the information about Ivermectin was around well before the horsepaste meme took off. Some enterprising reporter could have broken the story.

but how did the Ivermectin Bad meme get started in the first place?
pharmaceutical corporations saw a generic drug being used to effectively treat covid and went into full "SHUT IT DOWN" mode because they can't make as much money on it since it's not patented. They then used their positions with the MSM as leverage to start a smear campaign against the drug and call it horse paste, even going so far as to falsify stories of hospitals overflowing because of it.

Because Trump shilled for Ivermection. It's literally that simple. I'm sure you know that the Trump Bad principle completely shoves reality aside whenever it becomes active.
