$620k is a staggering amount of money for most people (more than their entire net worth, retirement, etc., even for those living a comfortable and financially secure life) and if you have that much squirreled away for an obviously bad investment, you're financially well off and begging for money to recoup just seems like you're taking a piss on people.

What an asshole.
agree, but for perspective to an LA resident with two small businesses, it's the equivalent of 60 bucks to a flyover wagecuck.

If you watch his video about it he shows some snippets of the contract he has with his MCN. They are intended to paint his case in the best light possible but even then it's ambiguous as to if the membership money is 100% his or not.

They clearly outline he gets 100% of "Google Net Revenue":

They go on to specify what that actually means:

The main area in contention is the Google Subscription part. I imagine the way the MCN reads this is that "Google Subscriptions" refers to the revenue they get from people who watch that used youtube red (now youtube premium) and not from people who become members, that's why they include the "for the avoidance of doubt". For reference this contract is from 2017 I believe so this predates channel membership as a feature on youtube.

They then cite a3 as justification for taking 30% under "Other Net Revenue":

To me it just seems like he was too lazy to renegotiate to explicitly state where membership money went when memberships came out and it's vague enough for them to read it either way. Other creators with the same MCN are complaining about the same split on twitter so I imagine this is just how the MCN sees things and not a target at Ethan.

stopped caring about h3h3 since he started doing podcasts or whatever, i dont wish him bad but still sad how mfs like idubbz, h3h3, went from being some edgy internet funnyboys i enjoyed and somewhat big part of internet culture at the time into absolute cucks relevant mostly because controversy or trash like that

"Either you die a hero...or you live long enough to see yourself become a lolcow."

Reminds me of Nux Taku on YouTube, the day he got his channel monetized he was on vacation overseas so he set it up that day but because Youtube is fucking stupid it automatically locked his payments to that country.

So he flew back to that country opened a bank account but because his name isn't actually Nux Taku, as soon as the money hit it that bank account got frozen meaning to this day he has like $120,000 trapped in a bank account in that country he can't even access.

Eventually Moist Critikal who operates his own MCN found out about his plight and added Nux to his MCN so he could finally get his money.

Overkill Software gave him 100% revenue off the skins DLC as an act of gesture when he was going through that fair use lawsuit. Of course this greedy fuck assumes people are just going to work for free and give him unconditional 100% revenue contracts, which I doubt he even pays tax on.

It's always heartwarming to see a jew get outjewed. I wonder if the MCN could get a jew lawyer (who knows how to read the letter of a fucking contract lol) and sue Ethan for damages, since he intentionally paused memberships to deprive the MCN from further revenue thus causing losses.
