If a single mother was trying to find a date on tinder and she didn't disclose she had baggage, actively being deceptive to the man, she would've been called out. If an obese woman used Fat Girl angles or old photos of her without disclosing anything, the person she'd meet up with would not react positively to this deception.

But a troon who KNOWS he's being deceptive and actively says "he wouldn't be interested in me if he knew I was being honest about being trans". How can he expect anything but a negative reaction from the deceived party? Was the violence necessary? No, but I'd argue the troon exaggerated the situation, because that's what they do when they fluff up their stories online.
