Much like with his 900 subs on Twitch, Phil seems to be coming into this with warped, inflated expectations that were cultivated by a whale (possibly even the same one, maybe, some people believe).
The Elden Ring playthrough was only sustained the first time around through Emil's daily tithe on top of OneMinuteJeff's. It was whaled thoroughly.
"Buy-in" means that his audience either have to whale, or pray that a whale breaches to save the playthrough for them.

Phil, in the past, was one of the people that did dodgy shit to get his hands on a fighting game early in order to try to get an advantage. I can't remember if it was SFIV or MvC3 or something, but he did it.
So in typical Phil fashion, he thinks he is qualified to be working the ovens when he is actually qualified to be in them.

Yeah I think OG / Howard had some connections and he got MVC3 early through them.

Outright threatening to delete the game on stream unless people 'stop bitching'.
He's talking to them like they're feral children.

And a good chunk of this was because he felt compelled to start yelling at Eternal Napalm, one of his most loyal mods. Screaming at him like he was Swagginz or something.
You love to see it.

EDIT: Phil wondering why he can't just play a game. Well you're doing it for an audience for one. But you have also been demanding their money for it all day, so you've opened the door to the notion that they should have direct control over it.

It's like he bottles this shit up when he isn't using it, like he has fucking snort and beg charge ups or some shit, and just needs to unload them to catch up to where he should be. Up until the interview he had drastically cut back on begging, just like when he was trying to court Sir Moist, and now it's like hes 100% more toxic and 100% more aggressive with begging. I legitimately think he consciously does this stuff to catch up to where he thinks he should be. I'm willing to bet that he thinks more begging translates into more tips.

My dude. You had the option to play NG+, but you randomly decided to do a normal playthrough AGAIN. It doesn't fucking matter that "you" chose a different build, the game is the same and the enemies are the exact same, the difficulty is the same...

You made the wrong decision, buddy. Just take the fucking L for once.

His decision to replay Elden Ring now is really baffling. Even taking it as a given that a whale asked for this over emails and promised to "buy in" for this playthrough, I can't understand why he chose to start playing it now, when there's still no release date for the upcoming DLC. He could have just told the whale that he'd begin the new playthrough a month before the DLC was to release, but he chose to do it now. I can't make sense of it. The only speculation I can even make is that he really wants that whale's money right away.

Phil was excited to see GoTeamVenture in chat, and then get $50 from "Pete teh Killer" (with Phil's standard misspelling of 'the').
So that's probably his sock, as this same thing happened the last time he showed up.

Also being rewarded for today's behavior is why people hate on Phil's fans. Nothing we can do is any more abusive than what he does to them.
