There's a series on the tumblr about Dobbo's Patreon that explains its slight rise and fall.

I never interacted with Dobson and from what I've read, I haven't missed much.

I know he hit the DeviantArt block limit years ago and my only other interaction was with one of his fanboys.

I find this doubtful for a few reasons. One is that even when active Dobbo was a terrible commissions artist, as evidenced by the one time people tried to pay him to draw Samus Aran. The other is that he had weird hang ups about his own fetishes and what to draw with them, I can't imagine Dobson being able to draw the fetishes of other people. Also, most furries will shell out serious cash for good art, I can't imagine most of them settling for Dobson unless he seriously got good.

And he'd stick to cartoons, not Anthro. Furries would go out of their way for kinder and more professional.

I forgot Dobson has explicitly said he hates furries too. Bugs there is a really great example of Dob's talent to draw something 99.9% on model and just make it look completely off and weird somehow.

A small part of me believes that if Dobson just shrugged his shoulders and went along with the joke (and I don't mean putting on a smug face whilst moping like a sobbing pissbaby behind the scenes) he'd do really well. People like self-deprecation, especially if it comes from an earnest place.

Also, if he did porn of his characters, I'd be all for it. But I know that's never gonna happen because he respecks the wimmenz too much and straight white men r stoopid walking talking penises who vote fer Trump and shoot beer cans.

I don't think he'd do porn of Pam, despite her representing his critics. Alex Ze Pirate and her stalker Atea maybe when he's not too busy being lazy with LGBTQ art to show how much if a stupendous ally he is
