I edited it slightly to mention Ethiopia as well, they and Somalia have been absolutely on fire economically. Very intelligent people who have finally had a chance to overcome the stumbling blocks and difficulties of the post-independence era.

What gets me about these POW execution videos the Russians keep dropping is it shows just how self defeating and short sighted they are. We constantly end up repeating this but it keeps happening. So again.

You WANT the enemy to surrender. Getting a reputation for treating wounded enemies and otherwise not treating surrendered soldiers like shit encourages more surrenders. Which makes things so much easier.

You don't want a wounded enemy to pull out a grenade and dead man hand your ass when he sees you walking up. You don't want dudes in a fox hole fighting to the death and so on. And you certainly don't want the enemy to reciprocate your treatment of POWs on the ones they have.

Looks like Russia is finally taking steps towards making mobilization more easy for the state, complete with further limiting of rights for its male population. Only source is Denys for now, but the images look legit. Not good at all, I don't really draw any satisfaction from thousands of Russians dying and having to be replaced, I just want them out of Ukraine and that's about it, and more mobilizing is not conducive towards that goal.

Honestly, most of these Russian losers are nothing more gangland criminals, from top to bottom, who think this kind of violence will shake down their enemies to do what they want. Russia's entire strategy in this war since the Kyiv "feint" disaster has been nothing more elegant than a mob boss sending in his heavies.

Yes, this worked extremely well during WWII. German forces made an effort to surrender to the Americans and British once the war was lost because we wouldn't brutalize them, and even the Japanese did the same when reality hit during the battles in the Pacific Theater.

Even before that, the unrecognize Republic of Somilland in northwestern Somalia and northeastern Somalia have their shit together for roughly 20 or so years now. Southern Somalia where Mogadishu is afaik the last part of the country to put it back together.

It's real. New laws are absurd, and they passed them without even reading. Some duma members straight up came out and said that they didn't even have time to go through anything. But duma ultimately exists to serve Putin's interests, not the people. They just pass shit through like a colon.
