Because he had to cancel his ''Birthday Week Begathon'' because he is 41 and even he realised it was embarassing for him and he needs that money, he really does, for his umm bills.

Something that I've always found weird is how he hypes up his bday week. Like you would understand if its a child, but this is a 41 year old man we are talking about. i think hes the only one from my perspective that does this shit. Of course for him is normal since he doesnt work since lets be real here if you have a 9-5, you barely have time in the week to celebrate if it was the case.

My bday always falls on weekdays because god is a comedian, so i usually move any festivities or gatherings towards the weekend since its more comfortable for me and my friends and family plus is more convenient. I usually like to do a bday weekend where i just go out and treat myself etc etc. Am i being a dsp in the bday section?

Eh, taking a weekend and just enjoying it isn't that weird, regardless of how it aligns with your birthday. If you're feeling compelled to make a big todo about it and expecting acquaintances or strangers to be very invested, then that's a different story. You seem self aware enough about it that I doubt that's an issue.

What makes Phil's birthday shit weird, besides the amount of time he spends celebrating it, is how he celebrates it. Its been said here that he sees it as a real holiday, and that he's owed leniency or respect because it is his birthday. Honesty, I think a birthday week COULD work as a streamer gimmick. You'd just need to do it right and either have it drown in irony as performance art, or make it about your community and friends and doing things for them.

Phil's birthday week has historically been a celebration of Phil and his inflated ego. He's not reflecting on his life and wanting to share the good fortune he's had, or to even entertain his audience. It's a ploy to get his asspats, and money for existing, because unlike the worthless humans who make his games, food, and lifestyle, HE'S important.

I love how in one breath he can say:

followed by

The amount of unrealistic entitlement to expect to hit the jackpot by playing a game (badly) for one hour is absolutely bat-shit insane.

1 hour on the night stream means hes already been at work for 9 hours, with only 4 (30 min) pee breaks and a miserly 4 hour lunch break. Hes earned those tips, he really did.

They are absolutely rubber stamps. Its really isnt some big SVU style investigation everyone seems to think it is. If John hadn't helped Phil with his first Direct Capture setup Phil would till this day film everything with a camera and put it onlineThis guy is inept of researching stuff by himself and then implementing it step by step. And since he is such a console peasant he has to fiddle with capture cards.
