I don't get why James can't just be honest with his audience that he has other people write the AVGN reviews. I think people would understand that it would be hard for someone to come up with new material after doing a series for over a decade so they hire people to help out. I had no issue with James having other people write the AVGN reviews as long as they were good. I had a bigger issue with James having the Screenwave Slobs write the Monster Madness reviews considering that was his passion project about a subject he cares about more than video games yet he has no time to write the reviews. That really bugged me as well as trying to sweep it under the rug with having the apology video unlisted so less people would know about the plagiarism controversy.

I don't understand why James won't just fire the slobs and bring back the old Cinemassacre crew. I would go back to watching every video.

Kyle runs his own business and has had nothing to do with Cinemasacre after disagreements about pay for buidling the set for the AVGN Sega Activator video. Mike is focused on streaming nowadays but does help James out with letting Screenwave use his game footage for some AVGN reviews. Bootsy also had issues with pay like Kyle with him getting no money from the dvds. James kinda did this to himself by not treating his friends the best so all he has are leeches who are taking advantage of him like inserting themselves into the channel like with Rental Reviews or the Cinemassacre Podcast.

Other than Mike, didn't they all get pissed off at one point or another about burned bridges, being owed money, etc? Kinda hard to bring people back if that's the case for anything.

At this point, there are a lot more clues as to why people (such as Mike, Bootsy, Ryan or the Screenwave slobs) jumped ship.

so if he supposedly been writing since last year, then he fell the fuck off (if we're to believe he wrote pre Screenwave episodes)

cause 2022 was meh at best.

EDIT: watching the video, He didn't write NWC w/ Pat the NES cunt. Pat has said numerous times it was his idea/script.

He still seems to be on good terms with Mike. But, Bootsy and Kyle ain't coming back. James sorta ghosted Kyle and Bootsy ain't doin' nothin' anymore if he's not getting paid. At least the slobs have stopped physically appearing in Cinemassacre content. Like, for real. How they were allowed to appear in videos for so long in spite of how universally unliked they were is baffling. Did Justin just hope his Gengar-filled girth would grow on people? To quote James himself: "What were they THINKing?!"

Definitely, Rolfe is an idiot. I just don't remember the exact details of what happened. PeriodicTrouble got it better than I did while I was replying. Even outside of failing to just pay people to work for him, it was brought up on a previous page but the guy has no fucking clue how to run a youtube channel. It's been mentioned he missed the patreon bus, I've brought it up before that he could have used the patreon money to actually get a small warehouse space to film in so he's not still in his cramped basement like a retard, while just tossing out some behind the scenes content every now and then to appease his fans. I don't believe Mike has much in the way of business sense either, but it's clear the quality went to shit when he left compared to what it was when AVGN was at anything resembling a peak. I don't know much about the screenwave era other than the AVGN episodes were crap, the podcasts or whatever they want to call them were boring, and James himself seems to have basically no personality on his own.

Same with Bootsy although I’ve heard rumors Bootsy was let go because he couldn’t stop sperging about politics/his TDS on social media, and James & Mike thought it would hurt their channel. Whether or not that’s true is still up in the air, but James does have a habit of taking his friends for granted.

Yeah Mike still helps every now and then, and I figure he and James are still on friendly terms, but I’d be tired by now of constantly having to tard-wrangle James as well if I were Mike. I get why he left to focus on his own thing.

thought the bootsy thing was more of a personal thing between mike/him (additionally w/ the pay/dvd royalties)

Yeah, Bootsy has mentioned James in a neutral way a couple of times after he left, he still has a picture of Bimmy on his IG



while he deleted anything related to Mike and refuses to mention him by name.

Also, Mike himself said whatever the fuck happened between them was his fault and he regrets it, according to Kieran (when he had the brilliant idea to do an AMA on 4chin) the disagreement over money was part of it but there was much more to the story
