Ariana Grande calls for fans to stop body shaming

Singer Ariana Grande has called on fans to be "gentler and less comfortable" about remarking on her and other peoples' bodies after recent scrutiny of her appearance on social media.

In a TikTok video, she said she had a body that is "paid such close attention to", so "wanted to address" concerns.

It comes after some users commented on her apparent recent weight loss.

Grande said they were "comparing my current body" to "the unhealthiest version of my body".

The 29-year-old US star explained: "I was on a lot of antidepressants and drinking on them and eating poorly and at the lowest point of my life when I looked the way you consider my healthy, but that in fact wasn't my healthy.

"I know I shouldn't have to explain that, but I do feel like maybe having an openness and some sort of vulnerability here will [mean] something good might come from it. I don't know but that's the first thing. Healthy can look different."

'Many different kinds of beautiful'

She continued: "The second thing is, you never know what someone is going through. Even if you are coming from a loving place and a caring place, that person probably is working on it or has a support system that they are working on it with.

"You never know. So be gentle with each other and with yourselves."

Stressing that "there are many different kinds of beautiful," Grande suggested fans should avoid making even "well-intentioned" remarks about how "healthy, unhealthy, big, small, this, that, sexy, non-sexy" people may look.

"There are ways to compliment someone or to ignore something that you see that you don't like, that I think we should help each other work towards," she said. "We should aim toward being safer, and keeping each other safer."

Grande, known for pop hits such as One Last Time and Thank U, Next, is also an actress and is set to star as Glinda Upland in the forthcoming Wicked film, based on the musical of the same name.

She has has previously opened up about her "anxiety" and mental health issues, especially following the Manchester Arena attack, when a suicide bomber killed 22 people after her concert in May 2017.

She is not the only star to find her weight being widely discussed. Last month, Selena Gomez said there were reasons why someone's body size and shape might change. In her case, lupus medication causes her to retain water.

"I just want people to know that you're beautiful and you're wonderful," the 30-year-old singer and actress told her TikTok followers.

"And yeah we have days where maybe we feel like [rubbish] but I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself, and my medications are important and I believe they are what helps me. So, yeah, [I'm] not a model, never will be."

As an adult, she's always looked disturbingly thin. Or rather, her body looks like a child's body. This is from Scream Queens, about 8 years ago.

The heavy make up makes it even more obvious, like a child pretending to be an adult -even though she IS an adult.

I'd believe her if she wasn't screaming about how happy she was when she was "in her unhealthiest" version.
These retards will always tell you that their current phase is their best/happiest phase and that everything before was ackshually a real dark place for them, which is why you should buy their latest project and get more details about it.

It is a bit ironic how all the mainstream news articles are only showing her old pics or the TikTok that conveniently only shows her head facing straight forward.

That's looking anorexic to me, dawg.
Yeah, fans have been commenting on her alarming appearance for at least the past year.

The gossip from the entertainment industry is that she’s extremely controlling about how she’s lit during concerts and shot during videos and photo shoots. She uses a lot of filters and selective angles. Apparently she was really upset about the “Rain On Me” video (which was produced and released by Lady Gaga’s camp) where she didn’t have that control. It’s true that fans commented on her size in the video, but mostly positively — she looked healthy.

She’s genuinely been through some shit with the Manchester bombing, Mac Miller’s death, being groped by a pastor in front of an audience of millions at Aretha Franklin’s funeral, etc. Between that, the demands of a very active and visible career, and her obvious body image issues, I think she’s not dealing well. I hope she gets some help, she looks very sick.

I mean, I get it sucks but what exactly can you expect. You're in the public eye and you're looking really different. It's not just that she looks really thin, her face is also looking really uncanny lately. Her getting that ponytail face lift really made her look strange and made her face look stretched.

This is the dumb bitch that tried to rip off that Christmas song "Favorite things" fotr her "Rich Bitch Anthem", 7 Rings. Even going as far as claiming in recorded interviews that she was "So rich, she'd pay off the lawsuit or whatever".

The judge who heard the case wasn't amused by that and she had to pay "Damages, court costs, and 90% of the songs royalties". So she actually lost a fuckton of money on it.

And to celebrate that songs release, she went out and got an "Asian lettering" tattoo that was supposed to say "Seven Rings". But she never verified what it actually said. So after she had it done, she was informed that it actually translated to "BBQ Grill"

This is not someone you look to for deep advice about life.

She used to be slender and petite but healthy-looking. What the fuck happened?

Maybe some of Pete Davidson's druggie AIDS got into her system through his spooge.
This or some conspiracy theorists will claim it's a side effect of the Pfizer vaxx.

Then as I mentioned in an earlier post, Ariana should spill the beans like Jennette McCurdy before she end like Amanda Bynes. Time for a flashback about Jennette exposing Arianna's silence about their abuse by Dan Schneider.

Btw, there's another older clip of Arianna a bit intrigued then someone tweeted,

In my opinion, it is not the fact that she is thin but more the fact that she has a big head compared to her body. It looks like someone shooped her head on another body.

Her recent photos are horrifying, she is sick ans open about it. Her life is probably not easy... While fans are concerned, it must be hurtful for her to be reminded that she is bad looking because of health issue. That's really sad, I hope she will be better soon. That being said, her explanations were fine until she speaks about "there are many different kinds of beautiful"... Being anorexic or obese because of poor health is not beautiful, and will never be. I guess she added it to be kind, inclusive or whatever non-sens like that but still out of touch while addressing health issue.
