You need a community of people you actually vet and you need to be looking out for and solving any issues that might come up. The way glowies get in is compromising people or bringing in outsiders. If you’re a community that’s based around ideology, you don’t let people in who don’t believe and you don’t water down your beliefs to appeal to people. You need to be like the left where you move the Overton window but don’t actually change your beliefs.

You have to remember that you are dealing with a bunch of morons here. They aren't the types that think things through. Even if they had any doubts about Milo, they likely thought that this would be the time that things go differently or if there is any drama with him that they'll be the ones to overcome it and come out on top.

You also have to remember that these people don't want to necessarily be the ones starting drama for various reasons. A lot of the early alt-right stuff bashed the left for always consuming their own. They didn't want to necessarily come out and appear to be gatekeeping people the way mainstream conservatism did to them.
