That could backfire really badly on Amanda. Employers do not like employees who have a history of shitting on their old bosses, even if it's justified. Plus, like it or not, the Wus still have some pull in the industry and you know they will use it viciously to discredit her. I don't see her taking the risk.

How do you figure this? Wu has only (temporarily) released one game on iOS, which had extremely mediocre performance if we're being optimistic. I've never seen anyone other than Wu herself make any mention of any contribution to that particular industry. The only "backchannels" that she seems to have had were at twitter, and they are drying up, as evidenced by the fact that people can pretty much talk smack to and about her on twitter with impunity now.

Frankly, I don't see where Wu has any pull in the industry at all, aside from being enough of a harridan on social media that people just try and shut her up. She's her own best cheerleader, but not much more than that.

It's not really about having pull in the industry, I don't think anyone cares what Wu thinks. It's about employers being able to google your name and find you having a slapfight with your previous boss, that'd make anyone think twice about hiring you. It works both ways of course, but Wu isn't going to give a shit. She's never had a proper job, and never will.

Thinking about it, finding out that Amanda quit in May sheds a whole new light on the weird events surrounding the game being uploaded to steam and totally being ready to go. I'm pretty sure that at some point early in the month Amanda went to Wu and basically handed in her notice, probably citing the fact that the company wasn't really going anywhere and R60 has been in development limbo for years. Wu went in to a frenzy trying to demonstrate that the company was totally on track, "Look, we're releasing the game! Look, I've got this VR stuff, we're going to make a fortune from emotional games!" but Amanda wasn't biting and stuck by her decision. Then Wu had one of her iPad throwing chimpouts and told Amanda that she couldn't quit because she was fired.

Maybe I'm going out on a limb, but it fits with the frenzy of activity in May and the complete absence of anything actually happening since.
