She did many many surveys and found that a bunch of simps are neurotic and conscientious. I, for one, am shocked.

Plus, why not just put a Big 5 test on your site? It's actually backed by science(even though psychology is the kindergarten of science).

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned in passing in this thread, but I scrolled back through quite a bit of pages and couldn't find it.

While I'm reluctant to comment on Aella's family too much, as her degeneracy shouldn't unfairly come back on them, this tweet seems weird for several reasons.

1. Not that it really matters, but as someone who comes from a conservative Christian background, I've never heard anything like this. I've certainly heard, "Married couples should try to have sex X times a week," as in "that's probably healthy for a relationship," but that seems like a good, might I say, almost sex-positive thing for a religious person to say. It was never, "A man needs this... OR ELSE!" as implied here.

2. Why would Aella know these details of her parents' sex life? She comes from an extremely conservative religious family and her mom is telling her stuff like this about her sex life? Parents in conservative circles wouldn't typically discuss specific details of their own sex lives with their high school-age kid, but would wait until they are thinking about marriage seriously. Sure, then most (good) conservative parents would be pretty frank about sex. But Aella ran away at 17. So is her mom telling Aella details of her and Matt Slick's sex life after Aella has run away and is a camwhore prostitute? Doesn't seem wise, especially when your daughter has zero filter and overshares constantly online to thousands of followers.

I have some theories, but I suspect we aren't getting full story on the family. It seems pretty likely that, from the start, the mom wasn't really on board with the super-conservative religious stuff behind the scenes. Certainly seems that way later on. Tolstoy was right: "All happy families resemble one another, but each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way."

I think it also has to do with this tweet from @Markass the Worst's OP: she mentioned how she quit camming because she got bored [lazy] with it.

(Forums won't let me attach an image, so hope that worked.)

She has zero tolerance for doing anything proactive that isn't enjoyable. Most of her "enlightening" stuff is largely passive: she'll post a survey and let other people respond, take LSD and let it do its work, etc. I've been in academia for a long time and you don't honestly have to be that smart to complete a Ph.D. even. Just look at some of the idiots out there running around with titles and degrees. Aella would be plenty intelligent for grad school, but it's more about completing tasks according to specific instructions, meeting deadlines, etc.

Ultimately, it seems to me her "intellectual" pursuits are more about being a pick-me girl in a niche circle and getting attention for it, and her current approach works quite well for that. Actually going to school and getting a degree wouldn't move the needle much in the simp department: she's already the big fish in the weird pond.

tl:dr she's lazy and only does things that get her attention

"Executive dysfunction" is a pretty common one among mid-millennials like Rachael. I'm about her age and I remember that I started seeing people diagnose themselves with it once I hit college age or so. Not trying to sound like a boomer but it pretty much translates to "I get all my dopamine from vidya and social media" unless you've got a diagnosis. A clinical psych would laugh at her; AFAIK real executive dysfunction is like low-to-mid-functioning autistics who need minders to stop them from walking onto train tracks.

Unrelated but I've noticed most women in data science are very normal by tech worker standards. Aella would stick out like a sore thumb there.

Based on what I've read in the God-botherer threads here, it sounds like some of the more recently established Evangelical cults, like Gothard/IBLP are very openly fertility cults. Jill Rodrigues and Michelle Duggar both say things on social media (and in Duggar's case, on television) that no religious person I know would dream of making public.

When I saw that tweet, my first thought was that she was basing it on how frequently she overheard her parents having sex.

I'm sure I read an article of some sort a few years ago suggesting that kids who frequently heard or/and saw their parents having sex were likely to have a more fucked up relationship with sex, too. Hmm.

Good point. I've somehow made it a point to never watch a second of anything Duggar related, and have succeeded, but I do know Gothard (a man who never married and creeped on young girls) does push that women should be available for sex most of the time. Paradoxically, he also advocates weird, restrictive OT regulations: no sex on period, no sex 7 days after, no sex on Saturdays (before day of worship), no sex for 40 days after boy's birth, 80 days after girl's. I may have that last one backward, but you get the idea. The whole Gothard/IBLP thing always set off my alarm bells years ago, even before it came out that he himself was a creep. I researched a bit, and it didn't seem that Slick had any explicit endorsement of Gothard, but there are other, similar teachers (e.g. Michael/Debi Pearl) that have surprisingly weird and explicit stuff in their books, despite having what most would view as a puritanical attitude toward sex.

EDIT: FTR, Matt Slick says oral sex is OK between married couples, but says anal is not. The Pearls are anti-oral sex, and IBLP frowns upon it, especially cunnilingus. So he's probably not following them directly, but still in that same area of thought.

Consider as well this possibility: Aella, a known attention-seeking liar, is making it up for attention.

ANY reason people drop out of college ALWAYS boils down to bad grades. I had a supervisor that "had an MS in CS", but really he just needed to "complete his thesis".

I was in the same program and they had a non-thesis option. It was like 2 more classes.
I actually disagree slightly about grad school on this, at least compared to "some undergrad" (where I'd agree outside of the random circumstance/accident) I usually assume "some grad" there's a good chance the person burned out in some way, often in that they decided to continue with life instead of academia and just never went back. I'd think much more highly of your supervisor (for example, although he should have just taken the extra classes probably) than someone who is 12 years into his PhD because the first will have some shame while the latter will force their "achievement" into any opening in a conversation. To include a personal anecdote I know a really good guy in a field who is all but thesis and he'll cop to "yeah, I should just do it but to go back and write a hundred pages about some irrelevant bullshit?" It's not hard to get to a point where your career background more than overrides what the extra degree listing can do for you. Academia seems like the only one where it actually matters in terms of blocking you from teaching and stuff, in many others where it matters somewhat they'll often pay you to finish it.

In Aella's case she could take all this dumb shit she does and get a sociology degree or something with it slightly improved pretty easily. She'd probably actually love grad school because it's almost custom made to her personality type. And everyone would think her "sex research" was all so important.

I quit grad school because A) it sucked B) I realized several of my employees had the same degree and I made more money. In my field, it's usually just for the pajeets to get that green card.

Wouldn't becoming president get you followers?
She said quality followers. You think the president has access to enlightened minds that can discuss the morality of fucking your dead dog? Wrong, you need the rationalists for that one. The questionable sex parties are available to both though.

Omitted because this was the most retarded part of the test.
Very unsurprising. The test just knows I was into 4chan because I answered positively to all eugenics questions.
