Trainwreck Jessi Slaughter / Jessica/Damian Leonhardt - Consequences will never be the same

The worst part about Jessi is that even though she's got that blunted, self-absorbed, uselessness endemic to most Tumblr teenagers, she has intelligence in there somewhere. There are little flashes of it in what she writes and she has pretty decent grammar and usage for a kid whose education was constantly interrupted. Jessi is doomed like Julie Terryberry - if she doesn't kill herself she will end up murdered and if she reaches 25 I will be very surprised - but had she not been raised by wolves, she would just be a melodramatic kid.

The kind who were in the lead role in school plays and cried in class at least once a week and had a coterie of friends to calm her down when she had a histrionic tantrum during the homecoming dance. She'd have gone to college, majored in something useless, dropped out, married some run-of-the-mill dude who finds her overbearing personality charming, had a couple of kids and been fine, ultimately.

I feel something akin to concern and kindness for Jessi, though I know she is doomed. No matter how annoying a twelve year old is, being attacked by a chan is an excessive response. Dahvie Vanity is a notorious child molester and I have no doubt he had sex with her - her later denials were just an attempt to prevent legal repercussions from happening to that disgusting piece of filth and to get people to leave her alone regarding her accusations because the overwhelming online response was not horror that a 26 year old, obese, untalented pedophile was having sex with a little girl. People were pissed she was getting Vanity into trouble. So her parents and the world at large pretty much taught her to be a hole into which others stick things and to be quiet about it. It's very unfair what happened to her and she has zero chance ever to pull herself out of this particular hole.

I remember all the backpatting the chan-ers gave themselves - they saved Jessi from abuse, y'all. Yeah. They ruined the life of a girl. A twelve year old. Just because they found her bravada and outrageous online persona irritating. They enabled Dahvie Vanity to fan the flames as they burned this little girl. They enabled an actual pedophile to demean this kid and praised themselves afterward. It was a complete clusterfuck beyond any redemption and attempts to polish it in retrospect are garbage.

I thought she'd turned 18 a while back and the nudes she constantly spammed were legal :cryblood: I wanna make a brain slushie now...

(edit for clarification: they were on her ED page a while back, which is why I assumed she had already turned 18. I need a drink... of bleach...)

God this is extremely sad. 4chan trolled a girl who clearly had a crappy upbringing (she's a brat and has no filter), and made everything a thousand times worse. She's the poster child for shitty parents in this day and age. Jesus Christ. So, I'm disgusted at 4chan (what else is new?) for trolling an 11 year old scene-y bopper horrendously, and I'm disgusted at her parents. And now we have... what we have now!

To be fair, she egged them on at every possible opportunity.
Every action Jessi took reads like a how-to for keeping trolls on your ass. She's had a million white knights pop in to try to save her over the years, and she always does the exact same shit.
Jessi is a victim because she's worked terribly hard to be one.

Well it's not surprising with how crass she was, and then there's the emo scene shit... do what you want, but kids need freaking discipline. And now it's too late.

I think this is a valid way to look at her online life after 2013 or so. A preteen/early teen can't really be expected to understand the cause and effect of behaving like Jessi unless they have a parent or mentor teaching them and supervising them. Jessi was really set adrift.

But while we feel sadness at the little girl whose life was sodomized online, the young woman herself may be deserving of plenty of criticism. She's gone-full Tumblr but if she courts negativity the way she did 2010-2013, white knights will just be justifying her lack of growth because she had a hard life beforehand. Yeah, she did. She needs to grow up and deal with it and we all know she won't. Pity for the little girl Jessi once was should never excuse current misbehavior. Infantilizing her will do her no better than a-logging her.

Does she still hate being called fat? Back then I saw a video on YT of some guy trolling her during video chat by calling her fat. She cried and defended herself by lifting her clothes for awhile while at the same time accidentally showing her breasts (which is gladly censored).

The video is likely gone at this point.

4chan was trying to do a (well deserved) character assassination on Dahvie Vanity, but it's clear that they took Jessi out in the process. They were harsh, even for *chan standards (when they "trolled" kids back in the day, like ChristianU2uber, they usually just stuck to YouTube comments), but she seems have thrived on the attention, at least a little. If 4chan wasn't gonna after her, it was probably going to be one of her emo websites or something like that anyways.

I don't really like to acknowledge "cyberbullying" as a thing, but 4chan really did attack her, maybe indirectly at least. I mean, the situation was funny in retrospect, but you really have to remember that this situation did a number on the mental state of everyone in the family, and her father physically and verbally abused her because of this.
