I don't really like to acknowledge "cyberbullying" as a thing, but 4chan really did attack her, maybe indirectly at least. I mean, the situation was funny in retrospect, but you really have to remember that this situation did a number on the mental state of everyone in the family, and her father physically and verbally abused her because of this.

Even as 4chan goes it was a low point. That said, her dad's chimpout was irresistibly hilarious and I can see why morality went out the window for that period of time.

What 4chan did to Jessi is what you get when 100% unchecked internet weens and trolls meet a truly clueless kid who can't comprehend just how far people will go for a laugh at others expense when you can hide behind an anonymous name. I don't know who was more desperate, to be honest. Her for attention, or the trolls and weens trying to get a reaction from her while sounding like a circling pack of apes watching a fight on worldstar.

And that was before her dad showed up.

2007-2010 was the Wild West of the cyberbullying, before 9yr olds started hanging themselves over Facebook and you could properly fuck up your career with Twitter or Instagram. This kid had no idea as to the kind of audience she was playing to, but she should now. For waaay too many the internet is a place more real then the real world, and that's the problem with nearly every lolcow on here. They should know better to go back but they always do..
I don't know which is more damaging, trolls ripping apart your weird, damaging lifestyle or asspatters telling you to keep going.

My only reservation concerning Jessie is her lolcow antics happened when she was 14, it's hard for me to judge what someone did so young ..I was in a full on punk/anarchy kick at 14 and wrote all kinds of cringey shit. I'm not excusing her parents by any means, but they didn't seem like the type to have a basic understanding of a computer, much less how the internet works. Jessi probably told them she was just doing homework.

I first learned about Jessi Slaughter through Chris, and Jackie for making him reference the memes.

This was a little different than 2011 was, and Jessi Slaughter came around being funny as fuck, seeming like she could be well on her way into becoming some sort of female Chris-Chan. I can't really remember what went down in 2011. I heard about her father dying and I did see the apology video she made while in foster care, but I stopped caring about her.

See, I thought she was funny and good enough that I had faith that there would be cows after Chris.

Then ADF came along, and just the sheer dynamic of how people thought his unfunny ass was to be the new Chris-Chan to the point they made a fucking WIKI for ADF within one month of discovering him, Jessi Slaughter kinda fizzled out for me.
