More than 4 hours for cooking fast food, and when the stream started all the ingredients were already prepared in bowls/cups. It easily took him 5 hours to make something one could whip up in 20 mins.
Did he talk about anything noteworthy? I skipped all the way to the end where he did somewhat of a Q&A, interesting stuff I caught:
1. He describes the cost of living in Japan as considerably lower than in the US. According to him, food is cheaper, people don’t use cars and walk/bike everywhere, rent is cheaper and caps out at around 250.000 (what ever that means, but he calls it “honestly reasonable”). Good luck with that, Adam, when you English Teacher salary averages out at 10% of the money you make in your current job.
2. Is he moving to Japan? He is giving the “No” so quickly that it comes across as a reaction to us/his weens constantly making fun of him for it. He immediately proceeds to explain that he will in fact look for a job opportunity and move it comes up (never).
3. Adam lists why he is so into Japan. Starting with his great interest in Japanese Architecture, the temples, the shrines, the landscapes, the trees, “a lot of that stuff”. Video Games and Anime are missing from this list, and we believe every word he says about his profound and mature interest in the country and its people.
He follows this part up with a tangent into the beautiful and pristine nature in Japan and contrasts it with the lack of anything past a few green and not so green trees in North America.
4. The man who doesn’t speak a single second language gives advice on language learning. His most important message after engaging with language learning for not more than a few weeks at best: “Should you learn Japanese? Fuck no! It is too difficult.”
