It seemed like they were exclusively living off Aidean’s tugboat. Kim was having a fit at one point because his money came early in December, but didn’t come early in January.
I’m sure that’s not enough money for two adults and one child, and they were leeching off mom and dad. With no mom around, dad said fuck this.
Agree. And Kim could at least take her fat ass down to the local Dollar General for a job. Since when is she the one with the “seizore” disorder anyway? Regardless, those people still work.

Rabbit bones said CPS is aware, if they really are homeless I can see them stepping in. He starts school after summer, that will add even more weight to the issue. Didnt Dalton just miss court as well?

Today at The Magic School of Arkansas we took the 8th graders to the zoo. Kimberly (pictured above) was extremely excited to meet all the animals. She said her favorite part was the goat pen because it reminded her of home. In all her fun of being a goat, she even ate some of the feed. She was really fitting in with them! A+ day and a gold star on your chart Kimberly!

Seems to me CPS should be able to step in pronto since Kim doesn’t have custody and they are homeless/not at a fixed address. Aidean has medical issues as well.
At minimum shouldn’t they have medical appointments they are required to attend with him, something for non-retarded adults to eyeball him make sure he’s ok and yes I know-Arkansas- but this is dire. She’s lost custody before because of this.

sorry to say it but i feel like sammie's junkie sister is probably super dead
while i agree the little cottages look less horrible than the trailer, that motel life is nothing nice. it's the last stop before "living in the car" for a lot of people.
for anyone interested in the world of americans stuck living in motels (can't get an apartment for deposit/felony reasons, so instead paying way too much weekly to live in substandard conditions) i recommend the film "Florida Project."
it's a good movie overall altho iirc there's kind of a sympathetic manager-type figure in it, whereas i think in reality 99.99% of the people who own and run these kinds of motels are soulless predatory parasites who despise and exploit their miserable "guests" at every opportunity.

I had a friend in highschool stuck living in hotels with their parents because they were dead beats with such bad credit and rental history. And other reasons I probably didnt know about.
Without Kim's parents help theyll be in these shit motels for life. I doubt kim will ever hold a job. Idk if Dalton gets a tugboat or if its just Aiden. If Aiden's taken theyll have no income. I know the trailer was absolutely shit but atleast it was in one place I guess?

Yeah the living in motels problem is particularly bad in red states with very little protections for low-income renters or public housing. Especially right now with the current affordable housing crisis going on and poor people getting thrown out of their homes left and right by predatory investors&property management companies looking to gentrify or turn them into airb&bs or w/e.
I heard one of the high schools near me, for example, has over 100 students living in motels. Meanwhile apartment complexes are sitting mostly vacant b/c no one can afford what the property managers are trying to charge. It's a crisis.
I can't imagine it's any better in Arkansas since that's one of the few states that's usually even worse than mine at pretty much anything related to quality of life/social issues/etc.

I just wrote a giant MATI fuelled tirade about them then thought better of it and hit delete.
But I agree, she is subhuman garbage that will cheat on the other subhuman garbage the second his ass is back in jail (18th June!) which makes her utter desperation to not be separated from him all the more bizarre.
