Tumblr ruined a generation of webcomic artists.
Having wasted plenty of time on social media, I think it's safe to narrow down a lot of webcomics that give "commentary" on tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter into a few categories.

1. Cute animals doing cute, wholesome things. This isn't so bad, but then you've got some of them attempting to shove in real world issues. Whether it be BLM, gun laws, Thanksgiving bad because natives, climate doomerism, etc. It tends to come off as incredibly jarring at best. Blobby is one of the more prominent ones.
2. Ugly, grotty, often fat people going on about how life is hard, student loans, Being a Woman Online is So Hard, political issues, etc. There's two from Insta I don't care to remember right now.
3. An unholy combination of the above two. The only one I can think of off the top of my head is some of the comics from the New Guy/shoplifter artist.

This doesn't cover all of them, not even close, but feel free to add on.

Tumblr and it's Subculture symbolize everything bad of today's progressive Politcs and the dealings with these Topics.
It's like that Dude saying to achieve World Peace, we need a Nuclare War, because People will getting so scared, they will never battling again.
