People have already stopped using any form of ingame chat because they just get banned for doing so. You can be banned from Halo MCC for typing in chat to shoot someone, in the M rated video game about shooting people. The only game I've played that has actual active chat use is like CSGO, because Valve isn't going to ban you for thinking.

You have party chat implementation and MS' reputation system to thank for that. I've always figured Sony's PlayStation was lenient with voice chat infractions. At least with the PS3. You couldn't report somebody there if you wanted to from my knowledge.

Of course, I say this as a sign of things to come given how hypersensitive everything is now with politics. Party chat has nothing to do with that.

Mana and SMT both started on Nintendo, Fatal Frame was always way more of a Nintendo series, too.

SMT started in the West (ironically) with Persona 1 and didn't move to Nintendo until SMT IV (after 9 games on PS systems), so I guess you could argue it's been half and half.

Fatal Frame 1, 2, and 3 were on PS2 and Xbox (which I forgot about when I typed the list and FF3 was PS2 only)

Fatal Frame only moved to Nintendo after the Wii came out.

As for Mana, we got Secret of Mana in the West, and then the majority of the games were released on PS from then on (there was one bad DS game). I've always thought of it as a Sony franchise. Sort of like how things like Castlevania migrated over.

The Wii game was Japanese only and was the one that just got a port to PS4/5/Switch. (Mask of the Lunar Eclipse)

There was also a Wii port of Fatal Frame 2 that was Japan/EU only.

It wasn't until the Wii-U game that it came to NA on Nintendo systems.

SMT (Mainline)

The only mainline SMT released exclusively on PlayStation was Nocturne. Everything else has primarily been on Nintendo systems. I think you mean the wider Megaten series which for a time was basically all on the PS2.

Yeah, one of the big pet peeves of modern writing is that women can't just have a platonic friendship anymore. They HAVE to be boning either on the down-low, or out in the open, to satiate an insignificant portion of the general population.

Plus the bonus ridiculousness of Horizon taking place in a post-apocalyptic society, where reproduction is vital for the continuity of our species. Come to think of it, TLOU2 pulled the exact same shit.

It had exclusive Wii and Wii U games, the Wii one did not leave Japan. For some reason I thought the PS2 games were all on Gamecube, but they weren't, those were false memories.
