VPNs

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The admins for 4chan, soyjak.party and a bunch of other imageboards are a bunch of faggots not allowing VPNs. I found a way around their retarded rules but it's still annoying I'd had to go there in the first place.
Hiromoot does allow VPNs, you just have to cuck out and buy the pass.

I like Mullvad. I do use Tor mostly out of nostalgia from being a little faggot browsing darkwe sites with my friends. With Mullvad I like its not a subscription model.

It's not worth doing that now that the jannies are a bunch of butthurt cockless eunuchs who will ban you for misgendering and shit.
Thats true, I think 4chan have also had problems with detecting certain VPn providers. I know Surfshark was a common one especially on boards with flags to larp as other counties.

People are claiming that the RESTRICT Act of 2023 is going to ban VPNs and have a pretty hefty punishment for having one. Specifically because of the wording of a particular part of the bill.

(a) UNLAWFUL ACTS.—
(1) IN GENERAL.—It shall be unlawful for a person to violate, attempt to violate, conspire to violate, or cause a violation of any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued under this Act, including any of the unlawful acts described in paragraph (2).

(2) SPECIFIC UNLAWFUL ACTS.—The unlawful acts described in this paragraph are the following:

(A) No person may engage in any conduct prohibited by or contrary to, or refrain from engaging in any conduct required by any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued under this Act.
(B) No person may cause or aid, abet, counsel, command, induce, procure, permit, or approve the doing of any act prohibited by, or the omission of any act required by any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued under, this Act.
(C) No person may solicit or attempt a violation of any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or authorization or 15 directive issued under this Act.
(D) No person may conspire or act in concert with 1 or more other person in any manner or for any purpose to bring about or to do any act that constitutes a violation of any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued under this Act.
(E) No person may, whether directly or indirectly through any other person, make any false or misleading representation, statement, or certification, or falsify or conceal any material fact, to the Department of Commerce or any official of any other executive department or agency—
-(i) in the course of an investigation or other action subject to this Act, or any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued thereunder; or
-(ii) in connection with the preparation, submission, issuance, use, or maintenance of any report filed or required to be filed pursuant to this Act, or any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued thereunder.

(F) No person may engage in any transaction or take any other action with intent to evade the provisions of this Act, or any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued thereunder.
(G) No person may fail or refuse to comply with any reporting or record keeping requirement of this Act, or any regulation, order, section, mitigation measure, prohibition, or other authorization or directive issued there under.

(H) Except as specifically authorized in this subchapter, any regulation, order, direction, mitigation measure, or other authorization, or directive issued thereunder or in writing by the Department of Commerce, no person may alter any order, direction, mitigation measure, or other authorization or directive issued under this Act or any related regulation.

They can put bans in place, but none of this is enforceable without outright banning encrypted Internet connections. If I connect to a VPN on some random port, my ISP can only see I connected to someone, not what we're exchanging. It could be a VPN, it could be me uploading files to my company's secure FTP server. I'm pretty sure China hasn't even managed to completely snuff out VPN use.

Yeah it's a combo of tunneling everything through 443, and bouncing off a relay in a large datacenter like AWS before reaching your intended entry node. It's how Tor bridges work when connecting from China.

They'll just kill encryption, the DIA & CIA has been itching to do it for a long time.

Good luck faggots.
Old but funny, these ghouls have been trying to ban it for a long time.

That would be pedophilia advocate Jeremy Malcolm, one of the principals of the pedophile advocacy group Prostasia, which finally got a thread today. The OP goes into immense amounts of detail including a lengthy section on this creep.

Oh and it actually goes back way, way further than that. Try the '90s when they tried (and failed) to prosecute Phil Zimmerman for creating PGP.

I’ve got a problem maybe someone here can solve. I have a VPN on my router so every device connected to it goes through the VPN. There’s this sports app I use that hates VPN’s and cracks down on them. Every device in my house can access the app except for my Apple TV which detects I’m using a VPN. I can even watch on the TV upstairs which is an Apple TV too so it’s not an update in that specific app. Not sure what’s going on.

You could have misconfigured your pfsense firewall rules. Are there two differnt rulesets for outgoing traffic, with one TV on the ruleset with the VPN and the other without the VPN?

This is actually on a DD-WRT router with mesh nodes connected to it for Wifi, so it should be the same signal for all devices. Funny you mention pfSense because I have a Protectli Vault in the post and will have that set up in a week hopefully, although I’m debating installing OPNsense instead. Fingers crossed it solves my problem but I am a hack when it comes to networking so who knows?

Mullvad was raided by Swedish glowies a couple of days ago. They say nothing is compromised, but I'm sure true and honest schizos will be freaking out. It's still possible to use a national security blanket to masquerade as Mullvad, since almost all EU countries added such powers after 9/11. But no idea what that would accomplish.

EDIT: wiki says the NOD is the "federal" enforcing arm for international policing https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swedish_Police_Authority#National_Operations_Department

Reading their presser makes me want to get Mullvad now.

If in the US, it's pretty simple. Generate account number, choose pay with cash, print or write payment token, enclose payment and token, address envelope, affix proper amount of Global Forever stamp(s) ($1.45 for up to 1oz, US bills bills weigh slightly under 1 gram each), drop in random freestanding blue drop box away from cameras, preferably residential.
