Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Physically, I'm here.

Mentally, I'm consooooooming.

This is probably the most meaningful thing in his life.

He was in a Vtuber concert basically people in anime avatars.

Sauced from @Undercover Commissioner in the Vtuber thread: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/virtual-youtubers.69525/post-15580973
I know a few people who are into V tubers and its really weird how much they worship E girls with anime avatars, they will post these shitty videos of the v tubers doing some low level tired joke and act like its the funniest thing they have ever seen.

I think V tubers really appeal to the new porn addicted anime fanbase that has developed, so now they simp for these girls while trying to pretend its somehow "based" to do so.

I remember this being a thing when I was in high school and I still don't get it, what is the point in keeping cheap cans that cost maybe 10 cents to make?
There will come a time when that particular drink is no longer sold in his location. Still dumb but if it's for a drink you can't get anymore it makes sense, it'd make more sense to have an unopened can but then you gotta deal with the logistical issues that fluids bring

Because when I think of "Star Wars" and alcohol, I think of an overpriced IPA (with wolves on the can, because that's how Disney Star Wars rolls). It's just so shockingly uncreative for a franchise where one of the most famous scenes is set in a space bar with dozens of drunk ass aliens. Although I'm sure Disney will "fix" that problem by partnering with some distiller to put food coloring in their vodka and sell it for 500 bucks a bottle/50 bucks a shot at the shitty Star Wars theme park. That would be the cheap option of course compared to the 5,000 dollar drink Disney wants to sell you.

I really like to watch toys autists and their collections vids on youtube, even more the retro ones.

It is funny to see their dedication to their own childhoods and even with all the money they have they are never saciated. It is never about how cool and good a toy it is, it is always about the brand it is associated. There is even a red flag for me: if the guy has he-man toys he is gone for sure, since unlike other series like gi joe, star wars, there can be other types of media associated that isnt full toy shill, but he-man is different. It is full consoomer juice package for retarded children and I even learned a new term describing these guys: kidult.

And what infuriates me the most is the leave in the box crowd. Holy shit, I can understand the childhood revival thing since even I bought one of my favorite toys after being an adult just to leave it on my desk, but not even opening the package is too much.

But imagine my shock when I realized that there are even worse consoomers: they buy more than one copy just to leave one in the box and open the other.

Of course companies would trive on these consumerist dolts, they are completely devoid of good judgement like the consoomers they are. But retro ones takes the cakes with the: "yeah I prefer this shitty toy unlike this better toy of the same character", and they cry even more if their toy has a reproduction toy gun that as you can imagine is just a shitty piece of plastic even back then.

It is like a circus, sometimes too funny and sometimes too sad.

The best thing these people can actually consoom is bootleg merch, at least they can satisfy their brand whoring without giving money to those giant companies and brands

I remember watching some videos anout someone who took bootleg stuff and turned into other franchises toy/statues made by themselves, you know, something that needs talent amd work unlike just buying stuff.

Even customizations has its value, but most consoomers dont care for that.

Majority of people with Steam libraries that big don't play 99% of the games on it and have never installed them.
That's still a ass ton of money, even with sales

When humble bundle was better and before their market place it was pretty easy to put 15$ down for one particular game you wanted that was in the high tier and get 15 other games with it.

Not saying that's the only reason why these people have obscenely large collections but is generally a contributing factor.

Steam consooming is still consooming.
The problem is that I can guarantee that this person hasn't played even half of these, it's a loose either way,
If he played all of them, chance he's a loser that has no life outside of video games
If he didn't play, he's a consoomer that spends too much money on shit he never uses (reminds me of someone's habit according to CWCki)

A Resetera poster named Squarehard is filling his entire room with videogames, anime waifu figures, manga books, and anime Blurays with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

This makes the argument that collecting isn't hoarding as long as it's neatly organized debatable.

He claims to have spent $55,000 on games, anime figures, and manga and that outdated figure was from four years ago.

I was going to post some direct pictures of his collection here but there is so much shit that it's not practical, so I'll just link to this thread and you can see it yourself:
