NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

Fox News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways, according to a statement released on Monday.

The statement reads: "Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

"FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month."

Carlson's show was frequently the top-rated show on cable news, often surpassing 4.5 million viewers per episode.

The show premiered in November 2016, and took over the coveted 8 pm EST time slot in 2017.

The decision to part ways with Carlson comes less than a week after the broadcaster and Dominion Voting Systems reached a $787 million settlement.

Carlson's departure comes weeks after a former booker at the show, Abby Grossberg, sued Fox, citing "vile sexist stereotypes" working for Carlson. NBC reports that "Grossberg was fired in March after she filed a lawsuit claiming that Fox lawyers coerced her into giving misleading testimony in the Dominion case and that she was being made a scapegoat for the network’s 2020 election coverage. Fox says she was fired for divulging privileged information."

Grossberg's lawyer has since said that his client has a "uniquely strong" case against Fox News.

Several former Fox News hosts reacted to the news of Carlson leaving the network, including Megyn Kelly, who said "Good for Tucker. Trust me, he doesn't need them."

Dan Bongino, who also split ways with the network last week, simply tweeted "WTF!" in response.

Last Tucker show sign-off
It's worth adding that he ended his last show on Friday, April 21st, 2023 with a sign-off indicating that he'd be back on Monday and had other plans for next week. So this is a very, very sudden thing.

Remember when the MAGA crowd was going on about how Trump should found his own news media network? Chances are Tucker might actually go through with that plan as Fox News helplessly watches as they bleed out viewers who follow the only figurehead that mattered.

This gonna be gud.

He'd have to seriously change his content or make it to where he's a third party in his own company. The reason why Trump never made his own network is because whatever is being said on there you can be held liable for. OAN learned that the hard way.

Interesting. Probably has to due with dominion lawsuit and Fox news is shooting themselves in the foot with this. I can see Carlson getting snagged by newsmax or something. Who do they have to replace him? Sean Hannity is still waiting to be waterboarded and has the personality of a turnip.

But didn't Carlson get caught shit talking Trump? Trump isn't the type to let that go.

I'm out of the loop. Can you sum up the whole Dominion situation?
Dominion is the company that operated the voting machines for the 2020 presidential election. Fox News has been accusing them of rigging the voting machines for the longest now, and they got sued by them for it. They ultimately settled the lawsuit for $787.5 million.

The thing is, as much as I want to believe that this election was rigged, I have to provide proof. I can’t just go by conjecture. It’s easier to just say Trump was set up for failure due to the pandemic.
