NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

As expected, Fox stock took a shit.
Alienate your audience, watch your profits drop. "Go woke, go broke" doesn't just apply to liberals.

What happened with OAN?

Same thing that happened with FOX. Sued to the stoneage except they don't have near the amount of money that FOX does. They had to walk back all sorts of shit and drastically change how their programming was run because their hosts were saying anything that came to mind without any thought of litigation being a possibility.

Wow, what a terrible business decision on Fox's end. I guess they didn't like being #1, because Tucker was assuredly a huge part of that. It's a shame the lying Fox news faces consequences for poor journalism while all the other lying networks don't and it resulted in this, but it's not shocking given the... erm... "totally fair and democratic well oiled system of law".

Either way it doesn't really matter because Fox is no different than CNN just because it leans right, it still shares the same corporate contempt for common citizens, so them fucking themselves over is hilarious and they will likely crash while Tucker's popularity will certainly allow him to thrive and possibly even exceed his former position.

You’d think they’d get rid of a lower-tier daytime host or two before they’d dare touch Tucker. My prediction is that Tucker will be hired by Newsmax, making their ratings skyrocket, possibly even reaching top three.

Tucker came the closest out of any news presenter I've seen to naming them. That alone probably made him some enemies. Where ever Tucker goes it's sure to bring big money and he can easily take advantage of a narrative that he was "fired" for "speaking truth to power" or whatever he wants to say really. This is only going to benefit him. Fox is going to bleed stock for this.

Tucker is the sole reason many people even paid attention to Fox News. Do they want to slink into viewership obscurity?!

Whatever the case, this is a practical move for Carlson. He's got enough of an audience and fuck-you money to easily reestablish himself with another media brand or go independent.
