NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

So will he be the campaign spokesperson or VP for donald?
If he going to be anyone VP. It’s going to be Ron DeSantis. He hates Trump guts.

I now can finally have an excuse to post this famous /pol/ meme:

In all seriousness, as someone that owns his Ship of Fools book, firing Tucker could actually be a blessing in disguise. He’s probably one of the last good journalists that dared to at least go against the grain of Conservative, Inc. No one else bothered to do interviews with the likes of Kyle Rittenhouse, Ye (a.k.a Kanye West) and recently Elon Musk when it challenged media bias within mainstream media corporations.

People can say whatever about CNN, MSNBC or FOX News, but the fact of the matter is that this is just the beginning. If we learned anything from the Matt Taibbi #Twitter Files coverage, Carlson is not just the only one that will have a ball with this situation.

One of the tweets highlighted in OP’s post said it best: Tucker Carlson does not need FOX News; FOX News needs Tucker, or someone like a Tucker Carlson.

Interesting to look at it from an angle about what this tells us about the political system. Tucker was one of the few high profile people who was allowed to sing out of chorus in elite controlled media, even as the screws were tightened everywhere and the regime started coming after dissenters and shutting down alternative channels. There were obvious areas he could not go, but at least he could go far enough in the right direction that people could draw their own conclusions, and he had a big enough megaphone to have reach. This is the reason for his massive success, and the obvious reason he got taken down despite being Fox's biggest cash cow. It shows we are the end of something.

Here, he is just a symptom for what's going on. In a normal world, you'd have several people like Tucker voicing and debating slightly dissenting views, and that was how the US and the West worked for a long time. It also served to stabilize the system. What this means is that this is no longer tolerated at all. You are either completely and vocally loyal, or you are out and have the feds using their massive power against you. That shows insecurity, for one, but also an unwillingness to make the sort of compromises which keep western democracies viable. The elite is rapidly walling itself off from any form of disagreement that would go against the narrative, and making it known it is fully divorced from the concerns of the common man. Expect things to get a lot crazier and weirder as the out of touch, morally weak and mentally unwell loons take over everything, and any sort of feedback that would allow for internal course correction is gone. Same thing that happened with Trump. Trump was a massive warning sign things were slowly spinning out of control, but the elite put its fingers in its ears and went "Nyah nyah nyah I can't hear you!" They battened down the hatches and doubled the dose of insanity and repression. Ever since 2020, it has felt like all restraint has been thrown to the wind.

On a slight whitepill, Tucker's a guy who might stand up from this punch and build something good out of it. He is smart enough, motivated enough and still young enough to put up a good fight, and this should give him the motivation to keep fighting. Trump was good in 2016, but he is just low energy at this point, and he's seriously old. Tucker's prime age to convert his following into some other form of political influence. Probably not just hosting a show, and not necessarily the presidency, but something different.
