Military recruitment lapses lead to 'challenges to national security

The most recent Pentagon data indicates the Army, at 69 percent of its stated recruitment goal, and Navy, at 60 percent, have fallen well short of their targets this fiscal year, though February. The Marines and the new Space Force each reached 100 percent, while the Air Force hit a decent 87 percent. Recruiting goals for the services ranged from 23,478 new enlistments for the Army to 172 for the Space Force.

These percentages compare unfavorably to those for fiscal 2019 through 2021, when each of the branches - excluding the Space Force, which was not yet created - hit 100 percent of their targets for recruits.

Reserve and National Guard units generally fell further behind recruiting goals than the active military during the same period: Navy Reserve 67 percent, Air Guard 57 percent, Air Reserve 62 percent, Army Reserve 58 percent and Army Guard 90 percent. Marine Reserve recruiters beat the competition by far, scoring 120 percent.

The fiscal 2019 record was much better. Each Reserve and Guard component achieved or exceeded goals, except the Army and Navy Reserves, which did well at 98 percent and 91 percent, respectively.

But across the Capitol and the aisle, Sen. Jack Reed (D-R.I.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, shot down that notion in a hearing that same week. Citing an Army survey, Reed said "one issue that did not deter recruits from enlisting in significant numbers was the idea of the military being 'woke.'"

"Let me be clear," he added. "Diversity and inclusion strengthens our military. By every measure, America's military is more lethal and ready than it has ever been. It is also more diverse and inclusive than ever before. This is not a coincidence."

Joe Biden and his administration have set a new rule that will take money from home buyers with higher credit scores and give it to borrowers with lower credit scores.

In other words, he wants to punish those who are more responsible and reward those who are less responsible.

This is right out of the Marxist playbook. The phrase, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs,” is similar to the ‘diversity, inclusion, and equity’ (DIE) slogan constantly pushed by leftist politicians and major corporations. For example, to obtain equity, those with the proper skin color or sexual preference receive preferential treatment. They get hired or receive money based on identity politics. Merit, experience, and qualifications? That stuff no longer matters so much. People cannot be made equal by force of law. Attempts to bypass human nature always fail. Those who are unfairly stripped of the money they’ve earned are less inclined to participate in their own slavery. Those who get free stuff take it for granted and don’t appreciate it. In the movie, “Starship Troopers,” the teacher exclaims, “Something given has no value!” And he was right.

It seems to me that such legislative decisions can’t originate from the executive branch, but Biden is a tyrant and loves to issue executive orders. Such a progressive penalty is similar to the income tax. It’s not apportioned and illegal, but force of law makes such oppression stand. (A progressive tax is also in the Marxist playbook).

My suggestion to the mortgage holders with good credit? Get together and file a class-action lawsuit.

Wasn't one of the first things the Maoists did was "nationalize" the children and then turn them against their families?

This is just the next step in the unspoken vibe they have going -- that Kindergarden teachers have parental rights over your children. I have to say this feels like them seeing a bigger story and seizing the chance. Sort of how there's a metric ton of articles about Musk culling Twitter's excess weight but the various other companies doing the same barely merit a fraction of the number of articles.
