Fire Emblem and Tactics Ogre are the two sides of the Kinsey scale for SRPGs.

I started with the first localized GBA game and beat it, then played a little bit of Sacred Stones and Shadow Dragon (DS), then Awakening, then saw that they added gay marriage to Fates and nope’d out of the series. I always thought it was morbidly funny how Iwata died just a couple weeks after that announcement was made. I also remember liking Heroes, though I only played Book 1 and some of 2 when it was new and lost interest after that, so I don’t know if it got any worse.I've seen this before where people who started with Awakening becoming a new breed of GBA boomers who think the first one they played is the only good one. Not saying you are, but I've just seen this take before just like I see it with GBA boomers and 3H zoomers.
Don’t be one of those people who shuns a work simply because you don’t like its fans, that mentality is childish and deprives you of-The fanbase for Fire Emblem seems to be all danger hair gay fags nowadays so I just stay away from the series entirely.
Never mindEspecially after reading how more recent games have been butchered in localisation by said danger hairs.
That's fair if your exposure is effectively FE7/Blazing Blade and Awakening only as FE7 is pretty plain if foundationally fine. I think Awakening is my least favorite entry, but that's because I don't like Fire Emblem for making "builds" which is heavily what Awakening wanted people to do. I like FE because it has tight strategy combat that has only what it needs to enhance that with enough RPG elements to be an RPG without a bunch of bloated crap, if I wanted that I have many other SRPGs to play. So Awakening being a brainless "Just pair Chrom and Robin together and move forward so they kill the entire map" and letting you just build stupid op characters is just not what I play Fire Emblem for and Awakening wasn't even fun on that SRPG op build level anyway unless you just want to make a unit who can take almost infinite turns or something. Fates (Conquest) fixed many of my issues by making enemies do shit beyond be stat balls, abuse once player only mechanics, and toning back the options players just had for doing almost nothing. Fates to me is an enhanced Awakening in every gameplay aspect and Conquest had good map design.I started with the first localized GBA game and beat it, then played a little bit of Sacred Stones and Shadow Dragon (DS), then Awakening, then saw that they added gay marriage to Fates and nope’d out of the series. if you said Marth I might've understoodI don't think people are going to whale out for speedo Ike.
It's been a while since I played it last, but what part of Odyssey is post-apocalyptic? I can't remember any of the levels being like that, except maybe the dragon one.Why is Nintendo suddenly shifting to a post apocalyptic theme for all it's major IPs? Mario Odyssey
Technically the lands were ravaged by Bowser and their priceless artifacts stolen for a weddingIt's been a while since I played it last, but what part of Odyssey is post-apocalyptic? I can't remember any of the levels being like that, except maybe the dragon one.
Why is Nintendo suddenly shifting to a post apocalyptic theme for all it's major IPs? Mario Odyssey, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3
What demographics or marketing reason do they have, it seems bizarre.
And in Kirby's case: the game's setting is taking place in an entirely different dimension. It's a way of "wiping the slate clean" so that you can have your games set in a completely new world. Keeps the franchises feeling fresh in peoples minds.
Well, all Kirby games take place after the Earth has been transformed into a frozen lifeless wasteland. And in Kirby's case: the game's setting is taking place in an entirely different dimension.
I think it's more a matter of not knowing which games they make off the top of your headI find it funny how many people here are surprised that Wayforward, long known as a "good" and respectful studio, with IS/Nintendo having veto power over them, are in fact just that and put out quality work.
I played those so much on GBA, I can't really go back. I'd like to see a new Advance Wars game with the new assetsAnyone here playing the real best strategy game by Nintendo: Advance Wars?
You Fire Emblem fags can suck it your games are shit.
I like how they added diversity to the soldiers so now black people get shot. Very cool.I find it funny how many people here are surprised that Wayforward, long known as a "good" and respectful studio, with IS/Nintendo having veto power over them, are in fact just that and put out quality work.
War does not discriminate. So glad Wayfoward was able to apply that message to the remake.I like how they added diversity to the soldiers so now black people get shot. Very cool.
Why bother developing a game and putting actual work into the scenery when you can just slap a 'dead world, here's some rubble' sticker on it and call it a day?Why is Nintendo suddenly shifting to a post apocalyptic theme for all it's major IPs? Wanna friend each other and play a round or two? None of my other friends like good games.I've actually been playing the Advance Wars remake and it's better than I thought it would have been. The graphical style was a little bit of a turnoff but the sound design and especially the music brought me right back around. I've finished the first game's campaign and am now in Advance Wars 2.
