NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

And even if they ponied that up, as others have pointed out, Carlsons reach is the over sixty crowd. As for what's next? I dunno. I don't think it'll be a new cable news gig at any of Fox's competitors to the right. Newsmax and OAN just don't have that reach. Newsmax particularly has been getting kicked off of cable news providers for a while now. And I can't see him starting his own network on his own. But if he did, it'd be kinda funny. Cos sort of like how now we have all these streaming services, it'd definitely cuck Shapiro, Pool and the rest of those subscription based, right wing media guys. I think anyone who does try to poach him in any case, will nearly financially kill themselves doing so.

My own prediction, is that Carlson ends up working as a political operative. One of those media guys for a campaign, or a spokesman of some sort. Would not at all be surprised if the GOP manage to win the White House one year, for him to become their press secretary or something. Either that, or because he's a nepo baby, he ends up biding his time for his own run. Either that, or he becomes like Rod Dreher, and gets some conservative mega donors to bankroll him being able to write nearly anything.

I have a feeling that DW do have the money for Tucker. Not only from their company, but they must be getting investors from somewhere at this point (Peter Thiel, etc.) if they could potentially drop $50 million on someone like Crodwer.

I really do not think it was the lawsuit. I really think it has been Tucker's increasingly flagrant expressing of his disgust with pretty much everyone involved. He tells the truth about Ukraine, the truth about Epps, the truth about the vaccines and frequently laughs at how false media and politicians are on his show and in interviews.

I expected him to have a car accident not get fired.

He has been martyred either way and unless he is locked down by a non-compete he can stir even more shit with less restriction somewhere else.

I used to not like Tucker but in the last year he has really stopped playing ball.

He could be a card-carrying communist for all I care - his value was in the conservative wrongthink he was willing to bring to a large national audience, not in what his core beliefs are.
