NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

Good. Gut what's left Fox News and let it burn to the ground. All Legacy Media must fall. Let's see what Tucker's really made of. Will he ride off into the sunset? Or will he start his own show or own company and cut out the middle men? Who knows how conversion rates will go over on the transfer considering his audience is old boomers who can't work that dang YouTube even if their TV remotes now have a big button for it. Maybe he'll join James O'Keefe in his new start up. I'm sure James would love a talking head like Carlson on board. Or maybe he'll do a Pres/VP run as some have suspected. Or maybe he's a plant and always has been and will take his ball home and stop playing. Only time will tell. Fox stock has nosedived. Boycott looms. I hope Fox gets everything it deserves for cutting off its own left arm for the good of Dominion.

Tucker Carlson is an expert at transforming himself into whatever conservatives want to pay him to be. His politics were totally different before Trump became the frontrunner in the GOP primary. I think he shifted his "beliefs" entirely because he saw the audience was there

That doesn't make sense though. He was literally the most popular mainstream news pundit in the world. If he is this grifter everyone says he is. Then why did he give up a prestigious job and reach to what? Attempt to post on youtube? Ban.

None of these arguments people are making, make any sense to me.

My gut is that this separation was much more boring than all these grandiose theories of glowies and the deep state, or even the lawsuit or Jan 6 coverage. There had been some tension between Tucker and management, and perhaps this morning they got into a heated argument which ended when someone stormed out and screamed "You're fired"/"I quit" and that was that.

Tucker may have thought he was untouchable or at least in a strong position because of the audience he brings in, and got too cocky acting like he ran the place. This may have even been a conflict of personalities rather than a business decision.

Another even more boring theory is that he felt entitled to more money and Fox said no and he walked.

Legacy media is a dying animal
I agree with you, but let's take a moment to appreciate that we're calling CABLE TV "legacy media". The first newspaper in America was started in 1690. 230 years later, America had its first news radio broadcast in 1920. 32 years later, network TV news started in 1952. 44 years later, Fox News launched in 1996. Now, just 27 years later, we're calling it legacy media and seeing its glaring deficiencies.

Remember when the MAGA crowd was going on about how Trump should found his own news media network? Chances are Tucker might actually go through with that plan as Fox News helplessly watches as they bleed out viewers who follow the only figurehead that mattered.

This gonna be gud.
No cable provider is going to feature it. The message was clear; you are not allowed to question globohomo. You are not allowed to expose globohomo.
The best he'll do is hop on Daily Whiner and be Shapiro's primetime host... if he can't get a sweet deal with Newsmax or Right-Side.

Regardless, it's funny how quick the right-leaning are to drop their loudest voices. Couldn't be NBC dropping Rachel Maddow or CNN dropping Anderson Cooper.

Tha's because the right leaning in charge despise MAGA for being a threat to their mini kingdoms. The only way MAGA will truly take charge is through full scale right wing purges and civil war. The only question is how ugly it'll be, and if the left manages to implode alongside the right.

Fox lost their biggest demagogue, what a joyous day. I didn't think him losing Fox nearly a billion dollars because of the Dominion shit would be enough to take him down. Guess Murdoch needed to recoup his losses on his new yacht.

Back when Jon Stewart still had two braincells to rub together, he perfectly broke down how much of a dishonest, partisan hack Tucker and talking heads like him are.

Also you people acting like Tucker had any legitimate takes that weren't fed to him by his script writers are the biggest rubes to walk the fucking Earth. He's a paid contrarian who says what pulls the most money out of conservative pockets.
Do you even bother watching the shit you post? In the literal same clip you provide, the very FIRST person who comes up with a question kills Stewart's narrative and he has jack shit to say back. Anyone who parrots his points hasn't even bothered to watch the whole thing, they're still stuck as mid 2000s south park lolbertarians mindlessly repeating comedy central slop.

I'd like nothing more than to see Fox fail, but it won't.

Tucker was a creation to fill the void of Bill, who they said of this departure would destroy Fox. It didn't. Murcdoch has let any exec go no matter how important. Or talking head. Or financial Founder of Fox News for that matter.

Whoever fills the void, will fill the void and he will keep his ratings. Bill, Tucker, Sean, they are all just merely creations from a parts shop and Murdoch has proven they can, and will, be replaced at will. God I hate Murdoch, but Jesus he is a hell of an impressive beast when it comes to his ruthlessness. Wish your enemy death but never be silly enough to not admire their tenacity.

The message is there for DeSantis and Trump: You will say and do what ever the fuck Murdoch wants and the next one who does will be President, and the one who won't doesn't get air on his show. If Murdoch doesn't like the narrative he will hand the Presidency to the one who will sing it.

Presidents come and go and so do Talking heads, but Murdoch remains.
